knittin' it old style

It's 2005 all over again! I'm knitting a Clapotis in some practically vintage yarn from Sunshine Yarns. I'm teaching an advanced beginners class at my LYS where we're making Clapotis wraps. It's such an awesome pattern to learn a little bit about shaping and pattern reading. And nothing can compare to the thrill of dropping those stitches!
I had two skeins of this beautifully blue circa 2005 Sunshine Yarns worsted and thought it would be just enough to make a scarf sized version of the wrap. After knitting this far, however, I'm not sure that the wool is soft enough to be a scarf. So, I'm on the hunt for something fine and fluffy to carry along with it to soften it up. I'll let you know tomorrow what I come up with!

baby, it's cold outside
I never did knit one of those, but have wanted to all these years. Maybe one day I still will.
It's such a pleasant pattern to knit: very straight-forward once you get through the first iteration of the pattern and very satisfying. You should definitely make one some day! :)
I found some advice somewhere to make the stitches you drop as purls - makes it much easier to track them!
Ooooh, clever, Katie! Great tip.
I never made one of these, but all of the ones I've seen have been pretty elegant looking. Maybe I'll join the crowd someday and make one for myself.
Well, if you can drop stitches and its legitimate, I just might have to knit a Clapotis for ME!
I've knitted this twice, both as gifts, both as scarves. I just need to add fringe to my current one.
One day I might make my self one.
