sparkle, sparkle, little girl

Presenting princess wee one. She loves this hat, happily letting me put it on her for photos and wearing it through the rest of the Dora show she was watching.

Let me tell you, there are quite a few beads on that Tilli Tomas Flurries yarn! I used all but a couple of yards of two skeins and pushed every one of those beads to the front of the work, so the hat would be as sparkly as possible. For the crown section of the hat, I used this free online pattern and the body of the hat was Ann Budd's basic hat pattern from Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns. It couldn't have been easier to knit and it really does look like beautiful snow crystals covering her head. She's a snow princess!

I think this hat is just adorable. You did an excellent job. Thanx for the crown pattern.

Ok, that's just TOO cute. Great hat!

So pretty! Your little princess would sparkle even without the lovely Tilli Tomas yarn.

That's a cute hat! I like the way the points work. I have made a similar hat knitting each point separately, but that looks like it would be simpler.

Adorable hat. Wee one is a real cutie!

Just perfect for your little princess! Wait until the other moms at school see this hat on her!

Hard to tell which is cuter - the hat or the model!!!!

That's wonderful - what snow princess wouldn't want that hat?!

As a mother of a princess daughter too, I have to say it is wonderfull when you can live your inner princess through someone not to old for all that sparkle ;) Wonderful hat!

Oooh, that yarn does have good bead coverage. While I can thread beads on, it might be worth it to pick up a skein just to eliminate that tedious bit of work.

Gorgeous hat!

That yarn is sooo pretty. I will have to try to find some. The crown/hat was a perfect idea!

Love the hat and the photos!

The hat is super-duper pretty, and such a good use for that yarn. I think you'd better buy up enough to make the hat in successively bigger sizes, because I bet the princess is going to want to wear this throughout her childhood!

Very cute! But wee one seems to have something stuck to her face. Will you have it surgically removed, or will it fall off naturally? ;)

Such a cute hat. She looks like a snow princess.

That pretty little girl is lucky. What a nice hat!

Too funny, Holly! All my kids have been very fond of their thumbs. Apparently, I make very yummy thumbies! The first two have given them up, so there's hope that we can go the natural route with wee one too.
