back in business

After three days of birthday fun, things are getting back to normal and I'm getting back to my projects, specifically the back of wee one's buttercup baby jacket. I've finished the crocheted bodice and can now move on to starting the front pieces. I'm looking forward to getting to knit again (the bottom skirt sections are knit just like on the back) because that crochet got boooooring. Strangely, although I can revel in hours and hours of stockinette, doing that crochet pattern over and over and over almost did me in. Perhaps it is because I have to pay more attention when I'm crocheting and can therefore really feel every minute that's going by. I don't have to look when I knit, but if I didn't look while crocheting, I'd, well, I don't think you could call what I was doing crocheting anymore. But when I do pay attention...

...now that's crocheting!

I think it's great that you can do multiple crafty things--knitting, crochet, sewing, etc. I would love to be able to do all of that. This little dress looks adorable, and it's good to see that you're getting the hang of the crochet. I can't wait to see pictures of it finished and on your little cutie. :-)
It looks wonderful! And I can't believe your wee one is two already!

Wow, I love the orange. I am making this outfit for my grand-daughter in a Butter Yellow. Currently I'm working on the lacy bottom of the dress. I'm not fond of crocheting either, but it does may this project go fast.
Wow, MsMcdit, you're making the same outfit?! I'd love to see a picture of yours! :)
Alison I think you did a great job crocheting. As someone who crochets all the time it can be hard and if you make a mistake it is very hard to undo. However, I am sure wee one will look beautiful in it.
Very cute! I love the look of crochet, though I'm just a beginner in the skill. For some reason, reading my knitting is just easier than reading the crochet.
I vote you to lead the united nations of crafting
It's SO pretty! I love the deep richness of the color.
Hey Alison, I just tried to email you a picture of my project but alas it came back "undeliverable". I'm not computer savvy enough to figure out how to get one posted, but I'd love to share. Any suggestions?
My grand-daughter just turned 1 so I am excited to get this completed. I started it at the beginning of Feb but scary thing happened, I ran out of yarn just before the last row of body trim. So I ordered more and thank goodness the dye lot is not noticeably different. One thing I'm a little concerned about is it very heavy. But onward I go with the front trim and collar...then on to the Pants.
