lady in red

Wee one's new spring skirt ("Comfort Zone" skirt by Knitting at Knoon, knit with only one skein of Cotton Fleece) fits her perfectly! Wee's never really had a skirt before, so I was relieved when she happily wore it around the house this morning. She even stopped to admire herself in it. Very ladylike and all.

We both love the little ruffles on the bottom. They become even more pronounced after some rolling and crawling around too. And the skirt is great for twirling!

Bring on the Spring. We're ready!

Oh it does look adorable. Perhaps you will have to knit her a skirtsicle pattern next. My daughter used to love wearing hers.

I knew the skirt was going to be just too cute for words on Wee One, but it exceeded all expectations!

Sue, I must know: what is a skirtsicle??!!

I get such a kick out of seeing how tall Wee One is getting. Tall girls unite!

Hi- We are a group on Ravelry that has signed up for a Harry Potter knit-a-long. Our moderator is busy so we are kind of in limbo. Can you help? Just stop by maybe and suggest something from your book. We could test a new pattern if you're doing a second book. Many of us have had your book, those who didn't have been buying it. Any help or suggestions would be great. I believe the group's name is Harry Potter Crafters.

The red skirt is REALLY, really cute - and I also wonder what a skirtsicle is.

I found the Skirtsicle on Ravelry. It was a Magknits pattern and is now available to purchase through Ravelry.

So cute! It always amazed me how different boys and girls are. There's no way any of my boys would ever have noticed what they were wearing at that age.

In order to help save the environment I bought cotton hankies. They were very costly and I needed more (allergies) so I made some out of old t-shirts my DS has outgrown. Now I prefer them to the others. When I'm ready I just toss them in the washing machine and voila I have more.

She reminds me of spring and summer of my own twirling past. Truly a symbiotic knitting/wearing pair. I wasn't always so lucky with my daughter (or my mom, for that matter).

Aww, too cute!!

Love ruffles!!! she's look tall and elegant.

Your daughter and that skirt are sooo adorable....and it goes so well with her blouse! I love the fabric the shirt is made from, can you tell me more about it?

Posted by: Lori at March 27, 2009 11:43 AM

Thanks, Lori. The shirt is from Oilily. My mother found it at a used children's clothes shop, so it's most likely an older style, not available anymore.
