cute as a button

And what buttons, too! When it came time to finish wee one's Sunday Brunch Jacket, I couldn't resist the bright orange buttons and the cheery color they bring to the jacket.

I can't say enough good things about this Sunday Brunch Jacket pattern from Oliver & S. It is such a classy, finished looking garment, but was really very straight-forward to put together. I spent a mere three nights actually sewing it up, all without a single hitch (until I discovered that the sleeves were too narrow for me to hem them on the machine, but they were easily blindstitched by hand). In fact, I found this pattern easier to make than the much simpler looking swingset tunic that I made last year.

I honestly cannot believe that I made this thing! Either one of these things, for that matter. (I apologize for the excess number of pictures, but I simply can't get enough of the jacket or the model.)

what's next, mommy?

Brilliant coat. Can I get this pattern in a ladies large? I can't get enough of the model either. I wonder what she'll think when she's 12 and a famous model?

No apologies needed here. I often wish that you would post more pics of the wonderful things you make (including such good-looking kids!) I'd love to have the guts to do more sewing. But man, oh, man, I'm a hand hemming and mending maniac!

LOL, what about lament or lilac or lilliput or line.

No apologies needed here either. Why do you think we keep coming back. I just can't believe that this is the same kid that was wearing the Emli bonnet. She even has a nice head of hair now.

She is as cute as a button and looks quite fetching in the jacket. I love seeing the pictures (especially, because your photography is so much better than my own!).

Fantastic job Alison. I love it with the bright orange buttons too, and she does look adorable in it.

Allison, you just make the MOST adorable things for your little girl! I've got to knit and sew up a few more things for mine. Your photos are inspiring me!

So totally adorable!

I love the coat!

As for the "L" words for wee one (seen on your twitter feed) I'd try Bert and Ernies LaLaLa song

"La, la, la, la . . . lemon
La, la, la, la, light bulb
La, la, la, la, lamp post [This is fun.]
La, la, la, la, lump in my oatmeal
Ernie: [Well, that's not quite what I was thinking about, Bert.]
Bert: [No?]
Ernie: [I mean there are a lot of pretty "L" words, and I was sort of thinking of the ones that are more lilting and lovely. You know like...]
La, la, la, la, laughter

Adding to PogKnit's Sesame St. quote, Bert goes on to sing "La, la, la, linoleum..." Oh, how I miss Sesame St. and its funny jokes for grownups. Very cute jacket. The orange buttons are a great touch.

Love the jacket - you always find the BEST fabric! The buttons look super. And, of course, as always, Wee One is the perfect model. As for Sesame Street - it seems to me that the current SS is not nearly as entertaining for adults as it was back in the 70's when my kids were little. I bought the early Sesame Street DVD's for my daughter's family for Christmas.

That is awesome! I know what I want to make for my little girl next!

Love this pattern, I think it's going on my to-do list for sometime this summer, to be used this fall. It seems like the perfect use for some Robert Kaufman cool cords.

That is a darling coat! The model is pretty cute too. ;) I think I need to sew one of those up for my kiddo.

Oh man, this is so cute! I got a boy, what does one make for them that can compare to this sweetness?
