o christmas dress, o christmas dress...
...how lovely are your, um, corduroy sleeves.

Wee's new dress, ready just in time for Christmas! When I cut this out (which, I should admit, was last year!), I had no idea it was a Christmas dress. But now that it's finished, it seems so Christmas-y.

The plaid fabric is from one of those 30's fabric collections and the pattern is yet another version of the Pink Fig Olivia top.

This pattern is so versatile! This time I lengthened and narrowed the top to make it an a-line dress. And to play up the Christmas red of the corduroy sleeves, I re-threaded my serger with red thread to put red rolled edge hems at the neck, sleeves and bottom. (And, you know, nothing but the true Christmas spirit would get me to re-thread my serger!)

O christmas feet, o christmas feet....

She is so gorgeous! She looks just like her mommy! The dress is adorable too!
Had to laugh at your comment about re-threading your serger. I stack my projects according to "lights" and "darks" just to minimize changing serger thread, because it is sooo dreadful...so putting in red thread to get a rolled edge is a true expression of love which I can appreciate!
Such a lovely, lovely girl!
Wee is getting so tall! Just look how long her legs look in that adorable dress!
Merry merry to you all and happy 2010.
That is an amazing dress. Very cute! Wee is just gorgeous.
She is so adorable & that is a really Christmasy dress. Wee looks so tall! I swear my grand baby M might come up to her shoulder & she's 3 (as of November 12). But then she is so small she doesn't even register on the growth charts for her age - below1%.
