the blue blog archives: where are they now or look who's wearing sally's underwear

When wee turned one (almost two years ago now), I knit her a doll from Clare Garland's Knitted Babes. I named her Sally and made her two dresses and little pair of undies.

No idea where Sally is now (toy chest, maybe?) but now that wee is almost three and is potty training, underwear is a big deal in our house. Wee wears her underwear all day while at home and only changes into a diaper for sleeptime or when we're off somewhere where I'm not sure of reliable facilities. And when wee one puts on her underwear, dolly, wee's constant companion, has to put on hers. Um, well, Sally's.

Too cute!!! In our family, when a little one starts pottying, Grandma buys them special undies - Thomas the Tank Engine for the first boy, Bob the Builder for the second one & adorable sweet undies from Nordstrom with pretty prints for Baby M (she is so tiny that even size 2 are a bit big on her - & do you know how hard it is now to find size 2 undies?).

Quick question - any thoughts on where one could get the pattern for Dolly? The link on your finished projects page says that copies are no longer availalbe (booo :( ) Thanks!

Do all little gals like tattoos? When my niece is 3yo, she loves having her name scribbled on her arms or stickers on her arms and yes, tattoos included. :)

The doll + underwear concept is a great idea!
