Another hat for my mother, since the last one I made her was too small. This one's nice and big in Rowanspun Chunky yarn (with some Yorkshire Tweed in black for contrast). I used a basic hat pattern from Ann Budd's book of Handy Patterns for Knitters. And then one for me in an irresistably fabulous yarn from Karabella: brushed alpaca, which knit up like roving on US15s. No pattern here, just knit to fit my head. So warm, so chic. Too bad it cost a fortune!
