sweet!

Okay, time to 'fess up. I started a new summer top! No, not Pagan - the knitalong is still on. But when I was swatching a bit of the Cotton Ease that I bought last week and then received a package from Becky with the most beautiful yarn in it, I couldn't help myself. I figured out how many stitches to cast on for a good size, did some ribbing and then asked myself, 'ok, what are we making here'. After browsing through my list from Monday and comparing the blue Cotton Ease and the aquamarine Licorne from Becky with my stash of all season's cotton, I decided to do a version of Sweetness in beach colors with short sleeves and waist shaping. The last tank did not have waist shaping and boy do I miss it! Won't be making that mistake again!
Another thing I won't be doing is blogging or knitting much over the next week. 'Cause we're moving. Yes, all sudden like that. We've been waiting for our landlord to finish renovating a bigger apartment nearby so we could move our now large-ish family into it and finally it's done. So off we go!

Oh! You like it! Licorne is my favorite cotton, and that color just screamed "Send me to Alison!" when I saw it. Enjoy :-)
(And you definitely have an eye for colors; I love the way you've set up the colorway for these stripes AND I'm a sucker for the waist shaping, too. Good thing you put it in - I always do to keep from looking like a stick in my knits. Show it off, baby!)
Good luck with moving. I am sure that once you have more space the actual work of packing and unpacking will seem worth it!
Good luck with your move! I've done it more times than I care to remember. You'll be unpacked in no time, I'm sure. More space is definitely worth the hassle. I just Googled "Tank Girl." Looks like a fun (kinda weird) movie. A movie to knit by. :)
Congrats on the new place! How exciting. Dave and I are gearing up to sell our house and I'm dreading packing up everything while watching toddlers. Good luck! But just think, you can combine packing with spring cleaning in one step.
Those colors are very pretty!
great knitalong sidebar! :) and good luck packing! put those boys to work - hee hee!! :)
Alison, thanks for the details. I'm almost ready to commit to joining the Tank Girls -- if you have time, would you also give me a yardage ballpark? It's just struck me that this may be perfect for some handpainted flax-blend I bought off eBay but I need to check the quantity. Thanks!
Oh, one more thing: Any suggestions on where to purchase the pattern? I'll give my LYS a call, but do you recommend any online sources?
Hey Maggi! I hope you can join us. The pattern calls for 5-6 (xs-xl) 50g/98yd. balls of all seasons cotton. I haven't bought any Rowan books online, but it looks as if the knitting garden has the pattern book. She's a fellow knitblogger I think. Anyone else know of a good source?
Good luck with the move, I am planning on doing a toddler swap with a friend who needs a day free for home renovations, in exchange for a day of packing. Maybe you can find someone to trade kids with for a day of uninterupted packing?
Good luck with the move! I'm prepping for one of my own, and it's hard enough without toddlers!
Hey! It's Jay from back in the day! Yes, that rhymed, which I am not particularly happy about. Anyhow, after you move, shoot me an e-mail when you have a chance. I'd love to catch up with you and find out how things are going in motherland, knittingland and everything else. Check out my site for quick answers to nonevents in my life.
