Come on. Knit along. It'll be fun!

About Pagan-beautiful pattern, by the way-I made something similar, but knit the arm hole edging and the neckline edging with matching color of Cascade Fixation-the tank fit very well-no gapes at the underarm and the neckline stayed put! And future washes were fine-the different texture of the Fixation was a bonus.
Clever idea, Deb! I've been wanting to try the Fixation, but am not so thrilled at the thought of making socks right now. Thanks for sharing the idea.
I'll knit Pagan with you Alison, I love the pattern. Send me an email and we'll work out the details....
PS - I cheated and posted your parcel from Chicago this morning, thought it was an easier option than sending it internationally. I don't know how long the post will take but it should be quick...
I want to be a Pagan Tank Girl!! I've been just waiting for a perfect excuse to buy another knitting magazine. I'm off to shop.
Alison, will you describe the pattern a bit? Your photo's good but I'm just curious about whether there's any texture to the fabric, and what the gauge is so I can check stash for alternate yarns.
i want to join. i think i'm going to use Cotton Ease (again). If that doesn't swatch well, I am also thinking of maybe using Gedifra Marrakesch
You go tank girl! Those patterns are really nice! :)
Yay! I'm so glad some of you are interested in knitting along. I have to give Deb from amethyst muse credit for coming up with the idea to do Pagan as a knit-along. This is going to be so much fun!
Maggi, Pagan is just stockinette stitch and the all seasons cotton is a 60/40 cotton/acrylic blend (gauge 17/24) that's nice and soft. I think the Cotton Ease would be a good substitute (for 1/4 of the price!). Looks like Deb is trying to substitute too, so she may have more info on what might work best.
Thanks for sending the package, Kerrie! I can't wait. As you can see here, I've got plans for it already!
Oh, Oh! Can I be a Tank Girl, too? I've been wanting to try the All Seasons Cotton. Certainly a girl can never have enough tanks. Going out to Harvard tomorrow. Will pick up necessary ammo. Let me know when "Operation Pagan Tank" will begin. :)
has anyone seen "Tank Girl"? I saw it when it first came out, and recently on TBS. What a strange, strange movie...but so much fun!
Wish I could join you but I have 3 knit alongs starting over the next 2 months. Have fun!
I am glad you are doing Pagan and will join you the first of June after my vacation. I started knitting the shrug to match my striped Maude tank to take to Colorado. Joining your knit along will motivate me to finish my Hello Kitty chart since I want my Pagan to feature the logo via intarsia. Happy knitting.
Woo hoo, more people joining the knitalong! I think I'll post a list of all the tank girls in the sidebar, with links to your blogs, so we can all check in on each other's progress, ok?
After giving credit to Deb for the knitalong idea, I must give credit to Nora - who's also joining :) - to suggesting Pagan in the first place. Thanks!
Oh, Deb! We MUST watch Tank Girl while we knitalong.
Soory lovey. At 6'1" & 195lbs, you slim things have an advantage over me. Plus, I think the design just won't suit me some how. :-p
Glad to see it won't be lonely during the process.
great choices girlfriend! i love them! but i am not joining in on this one, i've got too many plans already! :)
How fun, Alison! Leave it to you to make knitalongs a blast.
I'd love to do Pagan because I can't find anything like it in the books I have. Would you happen to have the gauge this pattern calls for? Maybe I can find a good yarn substitute; I'm not sure if I'll be able to have the yarn sent over from England in time to do it by the 15th! (Re the other top, that's definitely doable...count me in, but can we move it back towards mid-summer? I got lotsa knits right now :-)
I may be in for the becky-top, as it has been on my list of things to knit for awhile now. however, I'm still struggling on my sister's pita strappy number, so I'll have to give my decision later. I'll let you know what the word is ;)
Becky, you're welcome to join in whenever you can. I've got all my projects piling up while we move, so I'll have lots of other things to do and won't be knitting exclusively on the tank top. The gauge for Pagan, by the way, is 17st/24rows to 10 x 10 cm. They suggest using 5mm needles for the body. Hope that helps you find a good substitute!
Kim, we'd love to have you join us when you make it through your sister's top. Good luck finishing it!
Woo boy here comes the Phalanx of Tank Girls Knitalong! Watch out ;-)
Hey I want to join in the the knit alongs! I am just getting my webpage up and running (or should I say Becky is *lol*) and I am good to go!
I want to knit along on Pagan. I'll see if I can get the pattern locally. I'll have to print out that page of Rowan to keep track of which magazine it's in. I just noticed Berraco's Cotton Twist yarn (I think the name is right, but I'm not awake yet, so I may be confusing it with something else), so I think I'd use that if the sizeing is close. I'd rather do cotton and rayon than cotton and acrylic. So can you count me in tentatively? Wheeee!
I want to join in the Phildar summer top knitalong too... I can't resist !
Forgive me if this question is already answered somewhere in one of your entries but I didn't see it. Is the striped Phildar sweater from a book or is it a single pattern (leaflet)? I'm trying to track it down and can't seem to find it.
