I did no sewing last week, as the boys were having trouble sleeping and I didn't want noise from the sewing machine in the next room to add to the problem. Actual sewing content will have to be limited to this cute pic of B lounging in his fast pants. He's telling me to move out of the way so he can see Blue's Clues.
I spent my sewing time knitting, of course, and am almost done with my Smooch tank. I redid the shoulder shaping on the back. And I've even finished one shoulder on the front. One more shoulder and three needle bind off, here I come! Look at that, I'm even avoiding sewing in my knitting projects!

I received an Interweave issue for my birthday from a fellow blogger. If you need more Matchbox cars though, you know where to find me! ;)
I need to try my hand at some fast pants, I bet Lucas would love some. I've been meaning to get back to sewing but knitting keeps being in the way! ;)
Have a nice day! :)
I LOVE the color yarn you chose for Smooch. I just finished mine in bleached white (why boring white, you ask? Well, it was a wardrobe decision--I thought it would go best with a couple of specific pieces I already own) but now I want to make it again in another color!
That neckline is very low.....I may need to do the lace-up thing on mine if I'm seen in public. Hubby will probably love it though, LOL
My Mom was an avid sewer (is that a word? In other words, she loved to sew). I can remember falling asleep many nights with the sound of my mothers machine humming away. It made me feel very secure knowing she was so close.
I'm totally addicted to the 3-needle bind-off. I see no sense in doing any other seaming method for shoulders (or underarms) even though I really don't mind seaming!
Smooch is looking great!
Hey, if you need matchbox cars(or rather, your little guys), I'll hook you up. We seriously are being overrun.
Hey Alison - I was chatting with Georgina from nearlynaked.blogspot.com and I've cast on for SMOOCH...
I am using some Italian yarn from Rosina Filati called KIM extra Light. It is in a muted Teal.
I am done with the eyelet pattern on the back and am now up to the shaping. This is a FAST KNIT!
Lovey smooch smooch...
Marie, thanks for sharing your fond memories. It's nice to think that the boys will someday look back and remember me knitting and sewing away.
Bonne Marie, welcome to our not so little group. Happy to have you knitting along with us!
Karen, I started the neck right at the level of the armholes (like Linda did - to see hers follow the link on the sidebar) and it's not too deep at all. I'm also really tempted to make another Smooch. Maybe one in some fun Cotton-Ease that Bonne Marie has gotten us all hooked on.
where so you get Strampato by Rosna? I can't find it in NYC
