oops, I did it again

Another knitalong. I heard talk in blog comments here and there about a possible knit-along of Bonne Marie's awesome new ChicKami. Then, Gina brings yarn to Knitsmiths on Sunday to cast on for it and a knitalong was born.

Let's go, tank girls! Get the pattern (this one's easy as pie to get your hands on: no scouring all the L- and not so L-YS's and no sending away to France), and get started with us. I'd love to know who all's in, so I can follow everyone's progress. I love me a good knitalong! So, let me know and I'll put you on the little list here and come visiting at your place. Or, if you don't have a blog, I'll be happy to host a progress picture for you. Just keep on tankin'!

You are the worst possible influence. Very, very bad. While you're at it, start Sitcom Chic. As someone pointed out, they would make a nice twinset. There's more than one way to play your game . . . :)

HMMM Sitcom Chic - I've been wanting to do that one. Since I'm doing the ChicKami in Cotton Ease, they really WOULD go together nicely. Got to think about that one. I think I feel a Cardie Girl movement growing in our midst.

OK, I'm game Alison! I caved! I've already downloaded the pattern, but that may be as far as I'll get for now, because I'll have to debate whether I'm ready for knitting in the round (and buying the 2 needles I'll need, /and/ the dpns for the I-cord). But you can add me to the list!

And uhm, do you still add new people to the pagan list? Because I seem that have started that one as well...

You really are the queen of the knitalongs aren't you Alison? I think that looks like a great idea and I'm off to buy the pattern now. Count me in!

hi,

Love your site it's one of my everyday stops. I would love to join your Kami-along please add me to the list. My other knit-along is with monkeyknits and we are doing beautifully.

Hey! What's wrong with sending away to France, eh?

;-)

Knit-alongs are infectious! Okay, okay, count me in. About Smooch, it's not that I disliked the pattern. It just might have been a little beyond my knitting level :). I will be knitting another one...just not sure when. I think ChicKami will work with Cotton Glace (you think).

Posted by: Sharlyn at July 3, 2003 8:43 AM

Definitely count me in on the ChicKami knit-a-long. I'll be casting on as soon as I finish my Smooch (all going well a week or so).

Yay, more knitalong buddies! Sharlyn, you read my mind about the cotton glace. I haven't looked through my stash yet to decide what to use for the Kami, but I know there's some cotton glace in there!

Any built in bra in that little number? Some of us are over 40 and not as perky as we used to be!

I've got Sitcom Chic in line after Smooch, so I'll hold out on ChicKami for now -- at least it's another BMB design, and there's a knit-along for it, too.

Can we make the straps a bit wider and wear a bra?
I haven't seen the pattern instructions yet but i think i will get it now.... latifa

OOOOOhhhhhh, YAY! I had already bought the pattern and the yarn.... Sign me up! Rach

Posted by: Rachael at July 4, 2003 5:53 AM

Hiya. Sign me up too, please. I had planned to make a tank for my brother's fiancee's birthday, anyway. (End of August, same day, month, year as mine--how weird is that?) This one seems like a good choice. I'm in. :)

I'm in! This will be my first project that I've started since I made the big move to Boston. In fact, I'm leaving RIGHT NOW to walk to my *new* LYS to find some yarn for this project. Wish me luck! :)

I purchased this tank top pattern . I love the Idea of no shaping like you are doing right now. Since I am a newbee at garment knitting (only Socks so far) do I just go on knitting with my 200sts cast on straight until the top??? I am embarrassed asking this but need help. Who makes all season cotton? I would love to join you all. When I read your blog I get lots of inspiration.

I very much enjoy your blog, and the swank tank top inspirations. I really like what you've done with your Chickami - sooo creative. As of yesterday, I've too have cast on - adjusting the pattern for a slightly different gauge. We'll see what ends up happening...

Please add me to the knit-along.
Thank you!
