sweetie darling

I promised Michelle an update on native, but instead of working on it as planned, I jumped right ahead and started the sweet heart sweater. I just got jazzed by getting those sleeves done. Plus, the back is all simple stockinette, so it made for perfect tv knitting while watching Amazing Race. (Alas, simple stockinette in light grey is does not make for an exciting picture, so you'll have to go without today.) Gotta go read Terri's run down of the show now. Have a good weekend! I promise to work on native and show you my progress next week.

Hi Alison-
I noticed you made (and your're still making!) the sweetheart sweaters from Pipsqueeks. This sweater is in my plans, too, but I'm wondering about a part of it. In the instructions it says to use intarsia for the colorwork but I was wondering why I couldn't carry the yarn on the "sweetheart" word part a la fair isle? Did you do that or did you use intarsia? (I LOVE all the patterns in Pipsqueeks!)

Thanks Michelle! I can promise you a lot of native action this coming week. The deadline approacheth.

Amber, I did do stranding across the back for the lettering. Check out the pipsqueaks archives for all my hemming and hawing about stranding vs. duplicate stitch and a photo of the stranding on the back side. They're fun sweaters to make. So have fun witht them!
