more sweets

Peppermint sleeves for the pipsqueaks' sweetheart sweater.

It was nice to finally get some knitting done! After working just on cookies for the last couple of days, I was happy to sit down with the needles again. The all seasons cotton is still a genuine pleasure to work with, but I have to say that my love affair is coming to its conclusion. I'm less excited about knitting tiny tops in cotton and want more and more to start fall projects. These sweaters for the boys are a nice transition project. Cotton, long sleeves, perfect for those first chilly days. I'm looking forward to them already. And to some yummy projects I've got planned, like this, this, this, and this. Sweet!

Yay - the chenille is going to make an appearance. The yarn for Cardi Rayon arrived at my house this morning so that's on the list for me too. I love the stripy sleeves as well, so so cute..

I love the Mystical Stripes Sweater. It is so cute for the winter. Can't wait to get a copy of that Rowan!

Any good ideas where to get that satin hook and eye tape? I'm working on something myself that is going to need it ;) (you'll see next week, as I have to go to a triple birthday AND homecoming party this sunday!)

Alison, your last "this", with the I believe cables on the front -- where is that from? It is absolutely gorgeous!

That Phildar cardigan is gorgeous! You're giving all sorts of good ideas.

Do you know if there is an english translation for the pattern? I couldn't find it on the english webpage.

Mystical calls to me also. Just a stripey cardigan, but 'Oh!', those yarns.

How's native doing? I've reached the halfway point of my afghan.

I'm so glad that I'm getting some of you all excited about all the fall knits coming up!

I can't wait to start the stripey Phildar cardigan, but Amber I have no idea where to find the satin band. Even my french Phildar connection says its a special order item. I wonder if you can order something similar here online. You can get anything online! Phuong, I haven't seen an english translation. I usually stumble my way through the french. I have gotten Phildar translations from Becky at fluffa! before.

I plan to do the Rowan cardigan without the stripes. (Gasp, me, removing stripes?!) I have some fabulous yarn that just needs a stylishly simple pattern to let it shine and I really like the shape of that cardigan. It looks so comfy! I will be adding stripes to the Rowan vest though. The leftovers will do nicely for this project.

Finally, Karen, the purple chenille sweater is Iona by Alice Starmore. Check my iona archive page for links to the book.

(psst, Michelle: native update coming tomorrow!)

my brain is so addled right now, at first i thought "hmmm, haven't i seen those sleeves before? did she die them" DOH!! they also remind me of candy stripers like reading old stories about florence nightingale or cherry ames novels!!

I think anna from here http://annamation.ca/annaknits/blog has translated the pattern. I haven't looked at it though...

Just noticed your new "button"(?) for Phildar. Did you do it? Love it! Very French. Too bad I don't have a weblog to use it.

Hi Shirley, yes I just finished the new button. Tank girl is going to transform into the Phildar filly just as soon as fall rolls around!

Alison,
I know you can get the black and white hook and eye tape easily..but I'll have to keep looking for the satin...I have connections though (a costume mistress friend) so I might be able to help us out!
