panty her

Welcome to Kerrie's sleep over party. Just one of the many festivities Kerstin has cooked up for our favorite knitblogger before her wedding (in two weeks!). And here's our guest of honor, joining us virtually in her pj's.

Yeah, we were doing a little knitting before you all got here. But now that you're here, let the fun begin!

Did you know that you can rearrange the letters of "Kerrie and Wayne" to spell "naked yarn were I"? Well, now you do. And speaking of getting naked with some yarn, why don't we start the evening by trying on some crocheted thongs?! Come on, it'll be fun! We have to find a good one for Kerrie (hen party = panty her). Perhaps this one would do for our blushing bride.

Now we know why she's blushing! And our purple pixie, hostess with the mostest should definitely have this one. I think I prefer this one. Who's gonna try on this one?

So what should we do now that we've got our sexy underwears on? Let's knit! Here's a pattern from White Lies Designs designer, Joan McGowan-Michael, for a knitted thong. And we can't forget about the guys. I've got the pattern to make willie warmers! I know you brought your needles. But did anyone bring the Barbie knitting machine??

Well, we're off to knit a bit in our fancy underwear. All of you staying up tonight, check back in two hours for an update from the slumber party!

(we're havin' a party in the comments box!)

I'm early, but it's late and I'm gonna have to call it a night. See you gals tomorrow for the hop!

Hey ladies, say hi to Kerrie! Hey there bridal babe. Nice thong! ;)

Posted by: alison at August 14, 2003 11:07 PM

happy slumber party!

Posted by: Leigh at August 14, 2003 11:10 PM

Alison, I am dyin' here! Yes, the purple pixie crazy daisy thong is mine, all mine! (Hubby just set up my new flat screen monitor -- these thongs are life size! I have to shield my eyes. The exposure! Aye!)

Is anyone else experiencing any, uh, discomfort in these?

Pass the Cheetos. And the Fritos. It's gonna be a looooong night!

Hey Kerrie! Nice pj's! Got any good stories about Wayne you wanna tell us? ;)

Posted by: Kerstin at August 14, 2003 11:12 PM

Whoopee!!! Where's the camera? Gotta get a bribery snap of those wacky thong girls!

Posted by: Susan at August 14, 2003 11:16 PM

Just dropped in to see if all was well or if you'd been blacked out for a bit...TTFN...

Posted by: Marg at August 14, 2003 11:17 PM

You're a NUT, Alison, you know that? A "test of the automated slumber party update system!" I was wondering how you were gonna pull this off. ;) Well, I'm still having fun even if this isn't the real thing. Hey, Kerrie! What drinks shall we mix up tonight? I saw some of those XXX drink recipes. Holy mother of margaritas. Scary stuff. :)

Posted by: Kerstin at August 14, 2003 11:24 PM

Kerrie, if you pick out a nail color on my blog, I'll paint your toes. Special for you. Of course, I just misplaced my glasses so the pedicure may be less than perfect, but no matter! It's the thought that counts, right? Alison, done with those Native ends yet? Perhaps you need another sip of sherry?

Posted by: Kerstin at August 14, 2003 11:31 PM

Hey Kerstin, my thong's just fine, but my automated slumber party update system is wigging. So, yes, I'll take that sherry, thank you very much! And pass the cheese-its.

Posted by: alison at August 14, 2003 11:35 PM

Miltele just said oye! when he saw the purple thong. He wants to know if it is soft on the tuches? debala

Posted by: yentala at August 14, 2003 11:40 PM

Guess you'll have to stay up all night?!? I sure am glad you volunteered for this job! :)

Posted by: Kerstin at August 14, 2003 11:41 PM

Whoa...passed out for a minute there due to this thong cutting off my circulation. Pass the sherry please...and slap me if I pass out again. thx!

Posted by: Susan at August 14, 2003 11:41 PM

Ah! I'm late. It just struck me that there would be a time difference since I'm in Los Angeles. Bleh. That crocheted thong is amazingly stylish and looks easy to make. I believe I'll make one in red... Hand-made hotness...hehehe. (Puts on the Beaded Flower Thong) I'm good to go. :c)

Debala ~ Depends on what type of cotton is used. Personally? I think "cotton ease" would be more comfortable than the twine they used for this model. Then again, that's why the models get paid so much, no?

Posted by: Kerstin at August 14, 2003 11:50 PM

Hey Marg, thanks for checking in on us. We've got power here. I assume that most of our NYC buddies won't be making it to the party. Bummer! Won't be the same without them. Although the idea of having the slumber party in a blackout does sound kinda cool, a virtual slumber party in a blackout just don't work! :-(

Hope to see and hear from you blackout gals tomorrow!

Thongs: wouldn't that be a great present to knit for Kerrie? They're simple to make and I bet you all can come up with some creative looks. Heh-heh-heh.

Who has the onion dip?

Posted by: Michelle C. at August 14, 2003 11:57 PM

If you're worried about your tuches, the knitted thong pattern calls for angora! Mmmmm... soft. On second thought, not so sure that area should be so, um, fluffy.

Posted by: alison at August 15, 2003 12:10 AM

I'm going to bed, y'all, I think somehow caught Squib's cold. Pleaseee don't freeze my underwear, okay?

Posted by: Janine at August 15, 2003 12:12 AM

Now there's an idea!

Posted by: alison at August 15, 2003 12:15 AM

I knew I shoulda just kept my mouth shut. Pass me a pint...............of Ben & Jerry's.

Posted by: Janine at August 15, 2003 12:17 AM

*knock knock* Hello? Whew, I haven't missed the party. I came over as fast as I could, but I forgot my wallet, so I had to show the taxi driver the corner of my crocheted thong...

Posted by: alison at August 15, 2003 12:23 AM

Great to know you made it to the slumber fray, Brainy. :c) ::munches on cheese-its and sips her cherry margarita::

Posted by: Michelle C. at August 15, 2003 12:29 AM

Ooh, are those the puffy orange cheezy things? Pass 'em this way, Michelle -- I can't buy those things over here!

Posted by: alison at August 15, 2003 12:40 AM

These are cheese puffs ::chews::, but the ones in the shape of a ball. I just inhaled a bag of them, but I have reserves ::

Canada doesn't have cheese puffs? Shocking! I guess Canada isn't as perfect as I had originally thought. :cO

Posted by: Michelle C. at August 15, 2003 12:48 AM

Canada offers hundreds of ways to eat both cheese and cheeze -- I live in Taiwan! Maybe I could knit some cheeze-its. Pass a salt shaker and a ball of orange cotton-ease!

By the way, where is the bride-to-be?

Posted by: alison at August 15, 2003 1:04 AM

Where is the blushing bride?? Don't be shy now, Kerrie!

Posted by: alison at August 15, 2003 1:08 AM

Kerrie Lives in the UK, right? I think we should have worked out the time differences between us all. Heh.

Posted by: Michelle C. at August 15, 2003 1:18 AM

Well, the idea was that we're all staying up late so that Kerrie (who should be up by now) can have a party all day long. But maybe the blackout is messing up her internet connection. Who knows. We will party on though and record it all for her.

Posted by: alison at August 15, 2003 1:20 AM

Oooh, I see. Thanks for clarifying, Blue Alison :c)

Posted by: Michelle C. at August 15, 2003 1:32 AM

Good Morning!! Its 7.30am and I've FINALLY got to work. Just going back to catch up on all the fun you've been having!

Posted by: kerrie at August 15, 2003 1:37 AM

AAARGH - and the first thing I see is myself knitting in PJs. well done to whoever trawled through my archives for that one!!

Posted by: kerrie at August 15, 2003 1:41 AM

You want stories? What kind of stories? I'm glad you're all in bed sleeping now so that I can think of a story to share later. I might even post one for you...
