she knits sea shells by the seashore

Finished the back (the oh-so easy back) of the holiday island sweater. For fun, I thought I'd sew it up and see how it looked. Then, I thought, well, if I'm going to sew up the body, I might as well finish off that fabulously frilly neck. An hour of seaming and no less than three hours knitting, reknitting and reknitting the ruffle, and...

Essentially I've finished the shell version of the sweater. Not bad as a shell, but it is September already and I do so love the frilly sleeves on this sweater. So sleeves it is.

I've collected enough shells this summer.

Purty, purty, purty! O' course, today it's raining and only about 12C here -- real September! Best get off the beach and onto the sofa in front of the fire place! ;-)

Love the shell, and it will be great with sleeves. Sad that shell wearing weather is coming to an end though. :(

Oh sleeves, definitely. That will be a great fall top when it's done....which at your rate will be, perhaps tomorrow?!

With all the tank tops you'Ve knitted this summer, what will you be working on for the fall? :)

Thanks for your help over the weekend! :)

Now that you'll be going back to knitting sleeves, maybe that'll slow you down to sub-light.

Sleeves or no sleeves, that top is W-O-W on you! It's really a custom-fit and drapes so nicely. And I love that frilly neckline. Those hours of knitting and reknitting the ruffle really paid off; that is some niiiiiiiiiice finishing. I'm very impressed, as always :-)

Question about the Giraffe sweater please. How many yards are in the Legende balls? Love the frilly shells! Sleeves would look good too. Same top or a different one althogether?

Thanks everyone! I like it as a shell, but the sleeves are soooo cute. My first 3/4 length sleeves too, so I'm excited about them. The pattern is written to be made either as a sweater or a shell, which is why I thought it might be fun to go ahead and see how the shell version would have looked. But I have already forged ahead to start the sleeves. No slowing me down! ;0)

It's a great looking design. Caught my eye as soon as I saw it. Love the neckline.

I expect we'll be seeing the finished sweater this coming Sunday? Not to put any pressure on you or anything. :) Lookin' purrfect, Lady A!
