The first half of the poncho is done! I like how this pattern works with two identical pieces sewn together at an angle. Here's how it should look from the front - blue stripe down the right side to the point, green forming the majority of the body.

Those colours are simply beautiful. That'll be one spiffy poncho!
I have a question about the Knitsmiths: who are they and where do they meet? Are they the knitting group at Brookline Booksmith that I've heard rumors about? (I live in Brookline and am looking for some knitting connections). Thanks!
I love the colors together, so unexpected but works great. Is any one in the poncho a long knitting the one from Rowan's the next big thing? I have a knitting student who is and the pattern seems to have a big boo boo.
have a wonderful day, latifa
Good thing I just settled on a yarn to use for my poncho. Now maybe I will have it cast on before you get yours completely done! Maybe I better go cast it on right now!!! Looks like a lovely bath mat, I mean, poncho.
Wow - those colours look great together. My imagination is really poor today, I can't imagine how it is going to look when its finished. Its going to be a nice surprise for me!
ok, i love ponchos and have since i was a little girl. have a vintage one (in two shade of acrylic purple!!) that my momma made me when i was a little girl THAT STILL FITS!! so, i need to wear that this season in celebration of her. thing is though, i really want to be in the becky wanna be sweater. those are my colours!! my kind of sweater ( i am slow on the go here!) is it too late for me to join and more importantly, i have no idea where to get either phildar patterns and/or yarn here in nyc...any suggestions?
Pretty colors! I've been thinking of making a poncho like that with a cable in the stripe on my Bond machine. Maybe a cable/stripe on two edges, so the hem's evenly weighted (unless, of course, it makes the drape all goofy). :-)
What beautiful colors!! I can't wait to see it finished. Thanks for the tips on FI/Intarsia. The pillow suggestion sounds like a good starting point. A good way to start small and build up the skills for the real deal.
wowy!! so pretty. i'm doing a vila myself in addition to the rowan zephyr poncho!!!!!
I, too, love the color combo. I never would have thought of it. Now, I wanna make another poncho!!!
