ladybug, ladybug

Look, ladybug buttons!
I feel like I've been working my way towards this sweater since I started knitting. It was one of the first patterns that I saw and thought, now that I have to make. But I knew I couldn't do it right away. So I practiced my basic knitting skills on those first giant blanket projects, made my first couple of sweaters, then learned continental knitting and took workshops on fair-isle knitting and steeking. Whew, what a long trip it's been. But I made it (literally!). And not a moment too soon - the pattern only goes up to a two-year size!
Stay tuned: as soon as the boys wake up, I can get an action shot of B in his bug sweater.

Beautiful! And what a great story to tell about it. You must feel great! Now, about the "as soon as the boys wake up"... It makes me wonder... Do you sleep? ;)
That looks gorgeous, I'm so excited to see it all finished. And its a good reason to want them to wake up early in the morning. I'll check back later for the action shots!
Incredible work, Alison. (This from someone who has seen it up close and personal.) Absolutely perfect. I can appreciate the process you went through to get there as I'm just beginning myself. I'm super impressed by all your finishing here, lady. Bet you can't wait to start the 100 new knits you have planned. :)
Great work, as always. Those ladybird buttons are the perfect finishing touch.
Brava! I've enjoyed reading about the trials and tribulations (and now the triumph) of this little sweater. It's all come together beautifully. I'm sure Benny will be thrilled.
Gorgeous. I've been in love with this sweater for a while. Too bad it only goes to size 2--my babies are too big for it. You did a fabulous job. Can't wait to see Benny in it.
Congratulations Alison! In knitting school, you are valdictorian!
Wow! Cool sweater! I remember emailing you when you were starting on these sweaters a while ago. I was working on my first fair isle at the time as well. It's finally finished too, but no photos yet. Hopefully soon. I have a blog now too, if you'd like to stop by for a visit!

This is not only a sweater -- it's a work of art! Beautifully done!
