My husband and the boys have just recovered from a brief but mean little cold bug. And finally I have succumbed. So it's sofa therapy for me: my favorite sick day film (Pride & Prejudice) in the VCR, wi-fi internet surfing, and some knitting between naps. I'm counting on the Advil high and my one still open nostril to hang on long enough to get me over the worst part.

I guess I'm not the only one in bed this weekend watching videos with Colin Firth! I rented "What a Girl Wants" because Colin is in it. It's not nearly as good as "P&P." In fact I shouldn't even be comparing the two. But, it was entertaining.
Feel better soon!
ssk
Oh no! You poor thang, you. Too bad we can't feel "great" on sick days. A day in bed watching movies sounds heavenly until you factor in the misery of being sick. Take in copious amounts of chicken soup and tell those boys (all three of 'em!) to fly the coop. ;)
aww, get better! get alot of knitting done, and share it with us ;)
Ach, having just been there, I feel your congestion....get better soon!
Get better soon.
Plenty of fluids. :0)
Get well soon! Pride and Prejudice makes for good winter bug therapy. Sense and Sensibility comes in a close second, and Clueless makes a third. The most recent version of Emma, upon which Clueless was loosely-based, comes in fourth. It would have made third place but it has Gwyneth Paltrow in it. Toni Colette saved it from being in fifth. Hee hee.
So sorry you are sick!!! You know in addition to being cat owners, I have a feeling that many of us knitters may be Jane Austen fans! (Or at least fans of Collin Firth in P&P!) Hope you feel better soon. How can you not under the care of Mr. Darcy?
I can think of no better therapy than 6 hours of P&P. Mmmm. Mr. Darcy. Only as Mark Darcy in Bridget Jones has Colin Firth come close to instilling me with the same mix of adoration and lust.
Bleh, feel better soon.
Ah shucks, now you've got me thinking of Colin Firth walking out of that pond dripping wet. "Colin, look! I've got a towel!"
I hope you feel better soon, Alison : )
I've had good luck this year with Zicam....zinc nasal gel. Sounds gross but it works. Send your DH to the CVS!!
Sorry to hear that you're ill. I've just returned from two weeks in Italy (back on November 5th) and forturnately do not feel the usual cold from all those germs you get in contact with on the plane (11+ hours of coughs and sneezes). But who knows, it may take a week to incubate. Get well soon!
Eat soup and lots of it. And use the Puffs plus tissues. Plenty of them. Feel better, toots!
