Sometimes help comes from the yarn gods and sometimes from fluffy yarn buddies. Thanks Becky for the Legende leftovers! I used up my last bit of blue on the back and was able to finish the front of the phildar leftovers vest with the handful you sent over.
I decided for a wide v-neck and will be doing the neck and armholes to match the bottom edge. And now for a peek at why I'm giving up stripes for a while. Yikes!! This one is going to be slow to the finish line.

Ooo! Such lovely colors. I loved the way they work together. I can't wait to start my first Phildar sweater, but I have one big project that I want to wrap up next week and all this holiday knitting. But thanks for all the knit-a-longs. It helps to keep me motivated.
Wow, what a gorgeous vest! I love those stripes but know what you mean about all that end weaving, its going to keep you busy for a while. Try to look on it as a soothing exercise, in front of the TV with a glass of wine maybe?
Hi-like reading your blog-if you still need some Legende-I have a stash-teal, orange, burgundy and ivory-if you are still running short-let me know!
More weaving in? You are a glutton for punishment. Send it down here and I'll take care of that for you.
I love stripes! I know the ends will be a chore, but I do think this great vest is worth it -- I want to see a photo of you in it and the boys in their jackets. And, OK, you can change my gift tally to 4 of 13 -- I'll hope to be upping the smaller number soon!
Looking very good! And I'm so glad you were able to use what I had sent :-)
The vest looks wonderful.... However I don't envy having to weave in all those ends. Finishing is not my favorite part of knitting :)
That vest is looking good! And, all of those ends?! Ouch!
the vest and the hats look amazing!
I'd be mighty tempted to take up Michelle on her offer! Also looks like good "Knitsmith" work to me. ;)
Alison, please share your secrets for being able to start and finish so many projects. My list of WIPs gets longer and longer yet my list of FOs remains stagnant! Help!
Hmm, perhaps you could add me to the holiday gift-along? Maybe that will motivate me to finish up some of the gifts in time for the holidays. Is it too late for you to put me down for three?
Michelle, you're crazy putting something like that in writing! I plan to take the vest with me to Knitsmiths to weave in the ends there, but who knows....
Hmmm, Stacy, let's see. What is my system? Well, I try not to have too many projects going at one time. Maybe four or five, but a mix of smaller projects and larger ones, smaller gauges and larger gagues. Most important for me, I think, is that I work on all of them. Each week I try to work a little on each project. All of them make progress and when I finish a few, I can start something new.
I really try to keep startitis in check. I enjoy purchasing new yarn (no yarn diet for me!), but don't feel the need to start immediately on most new projects. There are many, many projects in my stash that I'd love to be working on, but I just can't knit them all right now. They'll still be there next month!
OK, I see. My real problem is the startitis! Since you just signed me up for the Holiday Gift-Along (thank you!), I'm doomed to add more to the WIP list. So, maybe my new year's resolution will be not to start any new projects until I get my WIP list down to 2-3 projects. Then, I'll have to work on making sure I have a variety of small and big projects--but only 4-5 total at any given time.
Thanks for the great advice!
