legends in the fall
I can't bear to think about weaving in those ends on the leftovers vest right now. I love the Legende yarn though. It's so scrumptuously soft and the fall colors coordinate with each other wonderfully, right down to the tweedy flecks.

I've got quite a bit of this green left over and plan to use it for one of the Christmas hats I've still got to make. I had planned to use the green on one of the boys' giraffe jackets, but decided to stick with the blue (thus my running out of blue yarn for the leftovers vest). Speaking of the giraffe jackets, the boys are wearing them at every opportunity. Between cold and rain, we've actually had a couple of beautiful fall days in the last two weeks so the giranimals could come out to play (a November playground day in Boston - bonus!!).

PS - You have got to check out the giraffe jacket that Sharlyn just finished!

An old friend from Boston is in town this weekend and she tells me that it is quite cold there! She spoke so much of the cold that I ended up giving her the Christmas/birthday (she's a Christmas baby) gift I knit for her. (The first in my holiday knits!) She loved it and now I feel much more inspired to go out and knit more gifts. ;-) Glad the giraffe jackets are getting good wear. They're too cute to stay in the closet.
You've got such cute models for your knits!
Hey, put me down for 2 of 2 (that means FINISHED) on the holiday knit-along. Yup, all done. Back to Pumpkin Spice and the Wannabe....
I hate weaving ends too. I set my timer for 15 minutes, weave ends, then stop when the timer goes off.
Alison,
Last winter, you mentioned knowing of or having a knit pattern for a hot water bottle cover. I would like to make one for my Grandmother for Christmas. Can you tell me what the pattern was? Where I get it? Thanks, Chelle
Your boys are so precious in their giranimals! It was fun to knit, but it's even more fun to see how cute they look in those warm little jackets.
P.S. I am an evil enabler. Writing to you now re L-e-g-e-n-d-e :-)
Woo hoo, Claudia! Done with Christmas knitting and it's not even December yet. Come on, gift-knitters - only 34 days left!
Chelle, the hot water bottle pattern I used was from Rowan #28. There's also a pattern in the Rowan Junior pattern book. And in Interweave Knits' Summer 2002 issue. Rachael at my glass house made one using a pattern of her own. She said that she'd share the pattern. Here's the link. Any one of them would make a lovely gift. :)
Sweet, sweet, sweet... What dolls! Starting my third gift, Sanquhar gloves. Never made gloves before (like that's ever stopped me, tee hee)... Eek! Wish me luck!
Your boys are just precious!
The legende yarn looks....absouletly legendary! Soft? Looks it!
We have been lucky in the weather department, haven't we? Enjoy it while it lasts. Don't you feel like the clock is ticking on the niceness?
See ya Sunday!
Sandy
Two beatiful boys in two beautiful sweaters!! You are truly blessed Alison! PS - that legende is lovely, damn yarn diet!!! Becky, you can enable me anytime ;-)
