enfin!
Finally, I can join my own knit-along. My Phildar yarn has arrived! It just barely missed me while I was in Germany and had to be sent on from there. I'll pause, so you can do the math..... Yup, that's over five weeks airmail from Germany to Boston. And that's pretty typical for us. For some reason packages from the in-laws always take forever to get here. I'm sure they're inspected thoroughly by customs. Those in-laws - a very suspicious bunch.

I took a chance on some different colors and I'm so glad I did. It's so scary when you've only seen something online. But I love them! In fact, I love the big, chunky, amber Fantasia yarn so much that I went ahead and started knitting. Isn't it obscene how quickly this yarn knits up?
Phildar fillies, here I come! Finally.

Phildar Fantasia looks fabulous Alison! As for taking a break with the gift knitting... that's exactly what I am doing right now! Tee hee!
Psst, count me in for one more completed gift. Thinking dress will be completed tonight with a matching purchased top (courtesy of Nordstrom)!
;-)
That is a frighteningly fast knit! Freakish, in fact. :)
Fast & fabulous.
This Filly needs her butt kicked in gear to put in the zipper already on Pumpkin Spice.
Yay! I'm so glad the yarn got there! I can't wait to see the finished products. I agree, the Fantasia does knit up quickly. I did my son's vest in a few hours. I felt almost like I was cheating, but hey! Knitting is knitting and it's all good :-)
I love the Fantasia! That it knits up so quickly is a bonus. I normally stay away from chunky yarns, but may have to rethink that philosophy.
Thanks for the praise! It means a lot coming from such a wonderful knitter such as yourself. Wish I could crank out sweaters and garments like you. Love your little "snowmen"!
Oh my! You did that in one day! I love the Fantasia colorway you chose, I was so torn about that yarn. It's so gorgeous, but don't need a bulky sweater...so I'm glad you got it and that color will be great on you! I see some cutie green skeins peeking out, what's up with that?
Claudia, I thought of your Pumpkin Spice when I saw the Fantasia yarn. It would be a great name for the color!
Silvia, I know what you mean about bulky. I'm also not a bulky yarn kind of gal. But I loved the yarn so much when I made vests for the boys that I had to give it a try. And since Stefan still doesn't like his vest, I guess I'll have to be the Fantasia fan of the family! (I'll be using the green boucle yarn for another sweater after Christmas. Like you, one Phildar sweater is not enough for me!)
Where do you get Phildar patterns in english?
Freakishly wonderful!!! I'm loving the color....dreaming of it in fact! Wishing, hoping, yearning. Okay, enough. Hubby is not listening. A gift certificate is in order, don't you agree??
Hey, I'm up to 6 out of 8 on the knitalong! yippee. gotta knit!
Sandy

I agree, Fantasia is gorgeous isn't it? So quick and satisfyign to knit up. Sorry that Stefan doesn't like his vest. :( Does that mean that Benny gets 2 of them?
