banff, baby

Fnished the first Banff sleeve.

Don't you just love raglan decreases? I could do them all day. And can I just tell you how much I am loving this sweater in this yarn. All of you who are afraid of ripping or are stuck staring at your newly ripped yarn, know that it can be good again. I can't believe how happy I am to be reknitting!

Note to Banff-alongers: There were two teeny-tiny corrections made to the instructions for the sleeve shaping. The Knitty pattern has been corrected with the new numbers in pink, so check it out. The pattern is so clear and straight-forward though that I bet you won't even need the corrections. Once you see what it is that's being done, you won't need the numbers anyway. I certainly didn't notice that there was any problem with the numbers and my sleeve came out right.

What a great sleeve! Your sweater is coming out great!
My re-knit sweater is coming along- finished the front, am about 1/4 into the back now. Sleeves should be fast- they'll be about half the size of the old ones. LOL.

I wanted to start this pattern in the next month, but wasn't sure how simple it would be to make it about 4 inches bigger (60-62 inches finished). Any ideas? I wasn't sure who to ask.

Thanks,amysue

Looks great, Alison! I love that yarn :)

how come your sleeve lays so nice and flat already? have you blocked it? mine curls like a mofo, but it is cotton/silk. :-)

Well this is why i let others get so far ahead of me with patterns *g* so that they work out all the bugs.

Such a pretty colour deserves to be knit twice.

Hi Alison, thanks for stopping by. I love Banff. What a strange name! It looks so cozy too. It's the clothing version of comfort food -- or maybe like being wrapped up in a yummy cup of hot chocolate. Looks like it's going great.

Go, Sarah Elizabeth!

Amysue, try contacting Jenna - I think there's contact info on the Knitty pattern page. I bet we could size it up ourselves too!

Amy, no idea why my sleeves are looking so smooth. I don't usually get this much cooperation from my knits!

Morgan, I'll add you to the Banff list. Woo hoo!

It looks great! I agree reknitting was more fun than I thought it would be.

Thanks for mentioning the changes. I started Banff II ( I think Banff I will be ripped) in a chunky acrylic I have and like it much better. I also got Stitch and Bitch out of the library and found a design in there by Jenna that I plan to make out of some more of this chunky acrylic I have around. The yarn was a good buy years ago on the swap list and I have enough to make my nephew one or two more sweaters (he already has 2 out of the same yarn) plus a few small items.

Your Banff is looking good, I love the color and I usually am not a blue person.

Lookin' good! I'm so itching to start mine, but I've got to finish Sonnet first. =) Would you add me onto the Banff Along list? I'm hoping to get started next week.

I look forward to seeing more pictures of your Banff as you progress...that really is a beautiful color.

Thanks for adding me to the list!

I hope you get this message 'cause I need help with the Banff please. I am a beginner so bear with me. Am I suppose to go into knitting the left and right shoulder as soon as I finish the back? This is a silly question, but where and how is it suppose to be attached?
