I finished my $30 brushed alpaca hat. I love it. It's soft and fluffy and has big stitches. Too cool! Unfortunately, it's not really cool outside anymore. Harumpff. Next winter, I guess. As predicted by Vanessa, I've got about 3/4 of the second skein left. Maybe I can use it to trim some gloves or a scarf, so I'll have a complete set in time for it to get cold again. And as we all could have predicted, there is now some new bulky, beautiful alpaca in the store. Am I a sucker for alpaca or what? Please don't let me buy any more.

Hey, Alison! It's 'way cool up here...snow and everything. :-) Your hat would find a happy home up north...
Hi, my name is Claudia. And I'm an Alpaca Addict.
You next.
What a coy look! I'll wish for one more quick cold snap for you and then on with Spring. Isn't it time for you to start knitting tanks again?
Yes, bring on the Tank Girls! I meant to ask you on Sunday . . . have you seen any new cool tank patterns? I've been looking around and haven't been too impressed. I LOVE alpaca, too. I've been playing around with the skeins I bought in Maine last Fall. So soft and lovely.
Send a little our way, would you, Marg?
Claudia, I agree, you do have a problem! ;0) I'm still in denial.
Michelle, now that it's over freezing here, I am dying to put down the wool and start some tanks. I've got to finish chickie and blue first, but then tank time!
Kerstin, in preparation for tank time, I'm going through all my mags and will be making some summer knitting plans. I'll try to post my findings later this week. Hope it stays warm!!
Yummy hat, yummy alpaca! I'm a teensy bit of an alpaca addict myself. So soft, so warm, so yummy!
ooh, tres chic hat Alison--here's hoping a cold snap blows through Boston so you can wear it some before Spring comes. :)
...and blue sky alpaca yarn....yum....have you seen their patterns? Not to enable or anything...but they are simple and lovely.
c'mon -- new england in march? one day it's 60 degrees, the next day there's 2 feet of snow on the ground.
we get suckered by this spring like weather in march every time.
I think mittens made with the cuffs out of that yarn will be great. You will be all set for next year, too.

in CT, where it is also nice and balmy and the sunset was really pretty as I was driving home from work today.
Well, as far as the blue sky bulky goes, yes, it's soft, yes, it's lovely, the yardage is *ok* (45 yds to a 100g skein) I made a gaiter thingy out of it to keep my lower face warm during the evil 40 below thing that happened this year and while I was warm, my mouth was FULL of fluff, it's a true bulky single ply, shedding all over the place.
(important things to keep in mind ;) )

Love the hat! And I bet you will get to use it yet this year. Alpaca is awesome stuff.
Oh yeah, turn me orange baby, Banff is officially finsihed now and a photo is up on my site. It seems strange to not be actively involved in a blue blog knitalong, so what's up next?
(Sorry, but I can assure you these three words will ne'er be uttered together in my house:
knitted
homespun
sweatpants
)
What a cute mirror shot!
Love that alpaca hat. It looks soft and snuggly. You should use some of that alpaca to trim a pair of gloves so you have a matching set!
