second chance to shine

After finishing the blue stripes on my cardi raye without the sparkle shit and starting the purple color that comes next, I got worried that the purple stripes were going to be too dull without the sparkles and that the purple didn't coordinate with the blue or the next color (pink) so well on its own. So I ripped out the plain purple stripes, got out the purple sparkle shit and reknit the purple stripe sequence.

Okay, I absolutely love how the sparkles change the purple into a sort of pink color! Wanna see a close-up? It's really amazing how colors can transform right before your eyes like that. The stripes look much better now.

(Wait for it...)

In the picture. Unfortunately, I still hate that sparkle shit in person. Out it goes. Nope, definitely not a sparkle girl. This time I'm convinced. No foolin'!

You are cracking me up with all the sparkle talk.

Sparkle-icious! Well I like the sparkles, but I'm in CA not MA and I believe we sparkle more out here on the left side...The cardie is shaping up swimmingly. Will look wonderful on you. More sparkles please!

You're crazy. And you're saying "shit" a lot lately.

Ever thought of knitting sparkly bras and selling them in Taiwan?

I was holding my breath there for a minute to see if you left the sparkle shit in!! Way to go for sticking to your original no sparkle decision but good for trying it out again. Can we expect to see any more sparkle experiments or is that going to be it now?

ugh, the sparkly shit is the sunset, right? that stuff drives me nuts. my sister's top (the one I have pledged to finish assembling next week) is knitted in sunset... pure sunset, nothing else. I hate it. I will never, ever use it again!

DOWN WITH SPARKLY SHIT!

Hmmm...do I see a NO SPARKLE SHIT button in the future?

Oh....just keep the colourway! It's spectacular!

i am totally thinking i am all about the sparkley shit. i mean i wouldn't knit with it. but i'd wear it. ;)

That's cool to know that the sparkle shit turned the purple a purply-pink (or is it a pinky-purple?). Is it a much lighter purple? Think you might replace the purple yarn with a color that comes close to the purple with sparkle shit? I've been wondering about this for mine too.

Hehe...you're totally cracking me up. Sparkle shit or no sparkle shit, that is gonna be one fabulous cardi.

Me? I like the sparkle shit in small doses, even if it's scratchy. I myself have got a sweater here with small stripes of sparkle shit in it, and I just wore it yesterday.

And I believe that "sparkle shit" will be THE PHRASE of this spring season.

LOL! You are never going to finish this sweater. ;) You are just going to end up going back and forth on the sparklies until you can't stand it anymore. Don't even look at the red sparklies. It's pretty, but you are sticking to your "no sparkle shit" theme. I think the sweater is looking pretty good without all the sparkle. I'm glad you are having fun, I would be going crazy with all the ripping back and starting over that you are doing.

LOL

I personally think the sparkle shit is fun, but I might not really wear it, either. It's great on the hanger! Anyway, I just wanted to say that I love your new Knitty pattern! Gorgeous!
