a few of my favorite things

Ooooh, the pink. Love the pink. My favorite part of the cardi raye.

Rowan Calmer. My new favorite yarn. Not that I've really made anything with it yet except a lace cap. Just got this Calmer (in the color Calmer) in exchange for the Linen Drape I posted about a while back. Thanks Lynn!

Knitalongs. Speaking of Linen Drape, I still have some waiting to become this Vintage Knits lacy top. Apparently one knitalong (the Vintage Knits Along) hasn't been enough to get this on my needles. Also in need of some motivation, Eklectika suggested a Linen Drape Along and made this fabulous button. How can I turn that down? Anyone else out there with Linen Drape (it's just been discontinued, so check sale bins and eBay for remaining stocks!), join us. Kickoff is May 1st.

A new project. My travel knitting for the NYC trip TOMORROW! Rowan Summer Tweed. Gonna keep you in suspense about the pattern until I get back. Can you stand it??

no. I can't stand it!(giggle)
have FUN!
I have Linen Drape as well...
it totally called my name in the LYS,
but I got overwhelmed with the teensy tiny
guage on most of the patterns...
It's White though, so my excuse was
*after Memorial Day for WHITE*
remember THAT silly rule?
Count me in.

You can count me in for the Linen Drape-a-long! I've got 8 balls of that Petal shade.....but still not 100% sure what I'm going to do with it. I might make the lacy top, or maybe not. Just can't decide if I would wear it that much. Hmmmm....

I'll join the Linen Drape-a-long! I have two potential projects ready for the yarn...a cardigan and a cowl-neck shell...it'll just be a matter of choosing which one to do! :) And have a great time in NYC!

Have a great trip!

I just swatched for a little summer top using linen drape. I had problems getting a nice swatch out of it. I am hoping that the linen drape along will give me a little push to try it again.

Cardi looks yummy - - those colors are just too, too gorgeous. Where in NYC will you be? There are so many great yarn stores here, & so little time!

Posted by: Mindy at April 9, 2004 5:13 PM

I got a whole bag of linen drape from colourway last spring and I just don't know what to do with it! I've been swatching, but nothing grabs me yet!

Posted by: Annhb at April 9, 2004 6:57 PM

Add me to the Linen Drape knitalong please! I have a bag of 'watermelon' and I was thinking about making that same lace top. Not sure yet, though...

What a coincidence, of sorts. I have been meaning to make Jaipur from Rowan #33, but haven't stumbled across any Linen Drape and the pattern calls for it (that it's been discontinued is news to me) so I bought some teal Silky Wool instead. I am fixing to start in on it next. Could I qualify for the knit along?

Did you note that the Interweave Knits' Weblog has a link to your sweatpants?

I am going to go to NYC and Purl SOHO tomorrow, if i see you I will try not to be start struck... you are one of my favorite bloggers! :)

Posted by: Melly at April 9, 2004 10:26 PM

I am so excited that there are some other Linen Drapers out there. Julia, I love that Jaipur pattern, so you're definitely in! And everyone else, if you can lay your hands on some Linen Drape, do join us.

So, I'm off to NYC. Maybe I'll run into some of you at Purl Soho or the Knit cafe. I'll be wearing something I knit, so see if you can spot me!

Well, since I actually DO have some Linen Drape and I actually AM thinking about the same Vintage Knits lacy top to make with it I might as well add my name to the list for the Linen Drape along!!! Thanks!

Alison (or anybody)
PLEASE let me know how to get hold of the pattern for the cardi raye. I absolutely NEED to have it! I adore the colors and the graduation of the stripes. Everything about it. PLEASE help!
:-)

I am going to start searching for the Linen Drape so I can join this knit along.

Thank you so much for your help on the poncho. I posted a pic on the progress of the bind up and the color.

Have a wonderful time in NYC, my most favorite city next to New Orleans.

Hi Alison,
I'm so glad I found your blog and your patterns. I love the beginners hat and I can't wait to try it! I'm a crochet hat maker but have been fascinated with knitting and am starting to work in that direction.
Thanks again for sharing your patterns with us!
Great Work!

Your finished items are beautiful. I enjoy looking at them, especially for inspiration. Also, I love the lace hat you made with the calmer yarn. I live in Toronto, and cant find it anywhere. I am dying to make that hat, but the pattern and yarn - well, cant find it. I might have to bite the bullet and buy it online from somewhere in the US.

Hi! I have 10 balls of Linen Drape waiting to be made into something summery. I haven't decided exactly what I'll make, and I probably can't start until after my wedding on June 5. If it's OK with you, I'll still join the LD-along! :)
