sweatpant update

I'm wearing my sweatpants. Right now!

So here's an update on how they're wearing. They are super comfy: soft, soft, soft and warm, warm, warm! They do slip down my waist a bit from their own weight when I'm walking around, but they don't feel heavy and cinching up the drawstring a bit does the trick. They haven't stretched so far. After I had heard from a few Homespun-pros that the fabric will grow, I decided to leave the legs a little on the short side, so they could stretch without becoming something that I'll be treading on all the time. All I have to do is tug on the legs to bring them down to the right length and yet they don't seem to be stretching on their own. I even slept in them last night. Thought I was gonna expire from heat stroke the first few minutes under the covers! But I usually get real cold at night and the sweatpants kept me nice and toasty. Finally, fashion-wise I think I look pretty bad most of the time I've got these pants on. They simply are not terribly flattering. But for knocking around the house and keeping warm on a cold night, I love 'em.

Hence the somewhat limited exposure in the photo! ;-) Trust me, Alison, they look *terrific* on any willowy soul under 40! (I'm 50+ and built like a small box...so I am writing from a position of Extreme Envy...)

My sentiments exactly. Good for home and being warm and comfy, not fashion statements. You were a wise woman to pick a solid color, as well!

I love mine and wear them constantly around the house! I've found that they shrink slightly in the dryer, but come out super soft and within a day have stretched back to their normal size.

Good to have a wearability report! Will you add me to the knitalong list, btw? Thanks!

all sweatpants by their very nature are stylin'....i have a pair that are horrendous but they are so old and so worn in and i am never trading them in.

Envy. If I was to make those things for myself.. not only would I need 15 skeins of Homespun, but I would look god-awful in them. Maybe when I finally shed some of this flub. Yours look great (all 5 inches we see of them.) by the way and the flowsies... awesome. THough I am glad to see how they came off the needles. I always get so envious of you blessed knitters.

I am making them right now. Can't wait to finish them.
Yours look great!

Sounds like their great for late-night movie watching curled up on a sofa. Wish I was doing that right now instead of being at work.

Some things are just too sacred to take out in public. Keep 'em your own little snurgly secret!
