while I was waiting

While I was waiting for my yarn from the Netherlands that I need to knit the last piece of the cardi raye, I started sewing the other pieces together. Just a few inches seamed so far, but enough to get me really psyched about finally finishing this sweater!

We recall that in another still-no-yarn moment of weakness, I put the frankensweater aside and started Ava. Although I love the Calmer yarn, I still haven't gotten much further than the armholes on the back. I guess my eyes were bigger than my needles!

And in the meantime, the knitalongs went rolling on. Shannon, Colleen, Kathleen, and Larissa all finished fabulous spring fling projects. There are at least THREE linen drape projects already well underway (Anne's, Becky's, and Amy's). And because my swatch for the Vintage Knits lacy ribbed top did not come out looking anywhere near as good as Anne's or Hope's, I've changed my mind about what pattern I want to make with my linen drape. Now I'm thinking maybe this one?

Thank goodness my yarn is here. Who knows what other trouble I could have gotten myself into!

How much knitting do you have left on Cardi Raye? The stripes are looking fantastic, I bet you can't wait to have it finished and ready to wear. The perfect spring cardi..

Ooh, the Calmer! I am so excited to see it knit (as opposed to languishing in my stash basket).

Just in time for sunny weather! Can't wait to see this one finished, complete with its pretty band of hooks and eyes.

I'm obviously going to vote for the Maggie sweater. :)

will linen drape work for maggie? very interesting! mary (healthytension.com) made it from the kidsilk haze and it's soooooo soft and lovely. (also very cropped!!)

Love the Cardi Raye - it's just lovely. I wish I could wear that color scheme, but I guess I will just have to live vicariously... It's also great to see all the spring flinging - what great projects. Thanks so much Ms. Blue Blog for helping to keep us all inspired...

Most impressive stripe matching! Maggie is gorgeous too. Thanks also for showing off the Spring Fling projects. :)

Hi Alison,
Love those projects and the blue calmer looks really lovely! Here in Hong Kong, there's a saying "Eyes are wider than the stomach" when one orders more food than one can finish:)

Cardi Raye needs another front panel and then finishing.

Lynn, it bet it's exciting to see your Calmer knit up. I'd love to see/hear how my linen drape is coming along! ;0)

Yes, I'm very excited about Maggie. I've seen some lovely finished versions out in blog-land and it's got me itching to start. The gauge called for in the KidSilk Haze is the same as given on the ballband for the Linen Drape. So, I'm hoping the substitution will work. And I'll be adding a few inches to the length, since I've read elsewhere that it's really cropped! No set start date yet.
