oh no, I'm seeing spots
I'm feeling better, but my little giraffe has broken out in spots!

At first I found the duplicate stitch to be pretty slow going, but after a while I got the hang of it. Especially after one of my fellow Knitsmiths reminded me that no one will ever see the wrong side of the work, cause it'll be all stuffed and sewn up. Oh yeah! That makes the thought of weaving in all those ends slightly less paralyzing.

I love that giraffe, he looks so cute!
He's a great giraffe. Looks like a fun project.
Glad you're feeling better. The spotty giraffe looks like fun. I also really like the fabric for your flowery summer blouse.
That is so adorable! And the colors are fabulous. Can't wait to see it finished!
And p.s., I am jealous of your sewing abilities. I have a sewing machine and not the slightest idea how to use it....
Hi there,
Very cute Giraffe! Where is the pattern found? My daughter would absolutely love it!
You crack me up, Lisa! Yeah, he looks like a headless giraffe, or perhaps a wishbone, but the head is actually there. The top widens out to form a round section for the head - the stockinette is rolling so you can't really see it. I know, now I've got to block him! And embroidering the eyes and nose will really help too.
Viv, the pattern is in an out of print Phildar magazine, Tricotez Calin #2 (Spring/Summer 2002). It's not available in the Phildar stores anymore and I haven't seen back issues sold anywhere. Sorry! But it'd be pretty easy to recreate, since the shape is clear and the spots can go anywhere (you can even check out this earlier post for a peek at the chart!).
where did you get the pattern for the giraffe? I love it and want to make one for my niece.
