a red letter day
Time again for a clearance sale at my favorite almost-LYS, Wild & Wooly in Lexington. I went with Shannon, who by the way is great person to shop with - she can give you sensible reasons to put something back and then enable you to get something else! The first thing that caught my eye was Classic Elite Spotlight Cotton in tons of beautiful colors. This is the yarn I used to make my holiday island sweater. It's the most fabulously soft cotton. It felt wonderful to work with and is even nicer to wear. I was so pleased to see it on sale! I immediately snatched up a bag of it in salmon.

Shannon got some Spotlight in red along with some red sparkly yarn (she's a sparkle girl). Red seemed to be the color of the day. I also took home a baggie full of incredible red mohair.

I see red. I see red. I see red.
And pink.

After the sale, I popped by the fabric store to pick up the thread I need to sew on the cardi raye hook & eye ribbon band.
What a great day!

cardi raye
ooh, I can't wait to see the finished Cardi-Raye. I know it's going to be gorgeous...
And hooray for yarn stores with sales. I'm glad mine doesn't do that too often.. :)
what are you going to make with your new yarn...mohair is my "lotto" yarn. When I win lotto, I only knit in mohair. I find myself hugging the skein cause it's oh so soft.
Oh!! Where did you get the hook and eye tape??? I love, love, love that color and I have yarn to make a sweater with it!
Details, details... I need to get that tape! ;-)
(Do I sound excited enough?!?! Tee hee!)
Can't go wrong with red. And can't wait to see that cardie!
Oh my! I had to bang my computer screen, I am seeing colors other than blue! (hehe) So pretty!
I am lusting over your coral Classic Elite Spotlight Cotton; my geraniums and inpatients are coral and pink in the same intensity. Your yarn is just the color of the flowers...
Would you sign me up for your Linen Drape Along? I am going to start the Rowan giftie project: the runner in blues. Eklectika told me about the knit-along. Other than Ingeborg, which is slowwwww knitting, I have not joined one since your spring fling.
Rose, the hook&eye tape is from Phildar. The www.breiweb.nl people sell it with the cardi raye kit.
Too funny, Cindy!
Awright Nora, we've sucked you in again! Mmmwwahhhahahahhaa!
