irresistible you
Have you seen the new Knitty?! I am so impressed with this issue. I'll admit that I was a little nervous about the 'sex and the knitty' idea at first, but in my opinion they really pulled it off. The issue is another amazing mix of beautiful, clever, and witty knits. I especially liked the sort of old era, vintage underthings interpretation of the theme that several designers took. Those designs in particular are just exquisite! I immediately fell in love with this one and ordered the yarn right away. And Halcyon, as usual, sent the yarn in record time. I love them!

all lined up and ready to go
As soon as I finish any of my current projects, I'll allow myself to start this one. Oh, and this one too...

toucha-toucha-toucha-touch me
While I was at my local yarn store, buying a few goodies for some friends, a little siren voice led me right over to this lovely. It's Daria multi, a nylon cord yarn by Noro. Aren't the colors amazing?! And it feels so fabulous. I'd been visiting and fondling the one skein at my LYS for a few weeks, telling myself that I couldn't do anything with just one skein. Well, I found two more skeins this time! My excuse no longer being valid, I had to get them. Just as I started thinking how silly I was to have splurged for the Daria and how my idea of making a crocheted bag out of it could be really stupid, I found this online. Oh yes, crochet happens!

shhhh...
hey miss - no need to stoop to crochet (ha ha ha ha ha, now all the crochet lovers will hate me) - i have a knit pattern for a purse that calls for 3 skeins of daria. i haven't made mine yet (of course) but monica made it, check it out: http://passionknit.typepad.com/photos/monicas_gallery/104_0427.html
Hush was my favourite pattern as well, I love the colour of the yarn. That Daria looks like fun as well, of course you couldn't resist it - that wouldn't be fair!
I made a small coin purse out of a skein of Daria, it's fun to crochet, though the lack of elasticity takes a little getting used to :)
I'm making 1930 right now, for some instant gratification!
that dress will be PERFECT on you...i have 3 skeins of daria as well...let's find just the right pattern to make a bag...by the way, loved the video of the boys yesterday. i may have to hire them to sing at scout's birthday party!!
At my LYS they had a small purse and a headband bothe knitted with Daria. Just another idea!
Hush caught my eye, too. But, oh, so much stockinette! It is very pretty and Mr. Blue Blog will be chasing you around the apartment, I'm sure. ;)
That nightie will be so great to wear. It would take me forever to make! ;-) What a pretty color, too.
I loved the Hush too! I just am no up to knitting something that size right now. I am buried under 8 or so projects that are started or waiting to be started. I have stashed my self into stress procrastination!!
I just finished a purse w/ Daria-got the pattern free from Franklin Mill Store w/ purchase. It turned out soooo cute-gave it to my niece. It is a little hard on the hands-but I am a tight knitter.
PS I know that you sew-if you ever find yourself out in Franklin,MA -the Franklin Mill store is amazing-material,yarn,everything-very peaceful w/ classical music playing-
I think the Daria looks really great in single crochet. I made the change purse with the pattern from Knit Happens and I also made a purse for the secret pal exchange that used under 2 skeins. The pattern is here if you are interested: http://www.curlyq.org/blog/dariamini.pdf It's really quick and easy!
Can't wait to see how the Daria crochets up! I think crochet is a good choice for it - I had a few skeins, and I just couldn't find a way to knit it that I liked.
The yarn for HushHush looks awesome! It was one of my favorite patterns of the new knitty
I've been waiting to get over to Knit Happens to pick up Daria and this pattern since I first saw this post. So close and yet so far. I have to wait until August.
