guess who's coming to tea?

Maggie.

Oh how lovely the linen drape feels again after all that Sugar 'n Cream on US3's. The back here has turned out a bit small, I think. I did get gauge, but for some reason didn't keep it. Ha ha. My plan is to wash this piece and see what size it is after washing. I'll adjust the numbers for the front depending on whether it shrinks or grows and how much stretch it seems to have, to give me the breathing room I need. I'd hate to lose out on all the promised drapey-ness of the fabric by making the top too snug.

But why is maggie coming to tea? Well, I've found a use for the toilet paper roll from the linen drape balls - it's perfect for blocking the tea kettle of my fiesta tea set!

I'll show you pics of the tea set so far later this week, after blocking and finishing. But first a little more linen drape therapy is in order.

I've cut out the pieces to start sewing some little rag dolls, does that count? If so I'm in for the tea party!

To everyone who is knitting the fiesta tea set and wants to use it for real children, I found that the 3 oz Dixie cups fit perfectly into my cups so your little guest can have real tea.

I hope I don't get kicked out of the tea party for crocheting my teacups! They do work up quickly in crochet. I made three cups and saucers last night! Pics are on my blog today!

I love the color of your little teapot. Too cute!
Thanks for hosting this, it's going to be so much fun seeing all the wee tea sets!

Oh, you evil woman! Tempting me to knit a tea set. I'm going to be dreaming about a tea set with mini pastries tonight, I just know it.

Somehow I didn't get added to the tea party or the drape along. I'm so sad! Can you squeeze me in?

Ha - that *is* a good idea for the LD 'cones'...I've only gotten to "release" one cone so far, but I'm still plugging along (can't WAIT to get to the armholes & neckline!)

Yay, more tea party-ers! Julia, I added you to the lists but apparently left out a crucial quote mark (doh!), so your name wasn't showing up. All fixed now! :)

watch out...according to emma, linen drape does shrink...http://emma.prettyposies.com/archives/week_2004_05_30.html

missed you on sunday...never the same without you. i just bought the yarn for my tea set--some red and some orange classic cotton...i might just crochet instead of knit, we'll see

Shame on you! You tricked me into starting Miss Muffin. I really don't have time for all tihs. Maybe I have to give up my day job to finish all my projects. Oh wait, that's how I pay for all my yarn.

Guess I'm not finished anymore, so you'll better change my name back to blue... :-/

Nice Lisa, getting me all scared about the shrinkage! Luckily, I've heard that the linen drape can shrink if you really want it to, but won't with normal handling. Or so I am assured.

Hey, Helene, no pressure from me to make Miss Muffin. We'll have lots of little best friend dolls at the tea party, so take your time with her. For now, I'm considering you done! See your finished set gives us something we can all aspire to. :)

You know, I only need someone to blame. When I first get started I just can't stop!
