I made up with the habu tank after recovering from my pick-up stitches-finger callous and sewed on the collar and pockets (hadn't mentioned them before, had !?). Redoing this tank was so worth it. Although the asian tank from Rebecca #26 provided the shape I wanted, I knew I had to go back and add the detailing from 1000 Sweaters. I love everything about it now - the style, the fit, the feel. This unique cotton yarn from Habu with colored thread wrapped around it is so light and comfortable. And it has incredible drape. It's just a pleasure to wear.

Great as usual! The pockets really made the difference on this one.
I think you should name this one Phoenix Habu, b/c it certainly rose from the edge of "so-so" to fabulous. wow, the fit, style are wonderful, sure hope you took notes, b/c it is definitely deserving of a reinterpretation in another yarn.
I absolutely love the interrupted ribbing on the front and how that little theme is echoed ever so slightly on the neckline with the edging not coming to a "v", but stopping short in a straight line. Great design sense here!
Beautiful job! This sweater drapes beautifully on you. I love the ribbing details that you added and the pockets are perfect!!
Habu is wonderful, Alison! It really fits you like a glove!
Lovely! It looks just fabulous on you.
May I say that you indeed have a natural talent for designing knitwear...do not underestimate your gift...i'd like to see more of your creations in the future!!
All I can say is WOW!!! I knew the ribbed collar, armhole and bottom edges were going to look fabulous, but the ribbed pockets really tie the other details together. Excellent job! I wish my knitted summer items turned out as fab as yours!
i saw that yarn at habu and couldn't think of a good design to use with it. it really worked up nicely in that pattern.
great collar choice too, and the ribbing used throughout as a design element really ties it all together.
nice work!
That tank looks so incredible! Your details from 1000 Sweaters really make the difference.
Alison, the shape and the color are perfect on you. I really like the pockets and the collar--wow!
Beautiful as always! Love the pockets.
The pockets and the collar detail really make that top special! It looks fabulous on you!
It looks amazing! Great job!
I love the collar you chose for this tank. Hmmm, I need to take a second look at that book. Beautiful as always!
It's lovely. I love the way it fits you.
Oh lookie here! An homage to stick-to-it-iveness, your goodness has absolutely been rewarded. Tank looks awesome, and I love the neck.
Your tank is really beautiful: I love the collar and the matching pockets. And I'm dying for this Habu yarn..
And to think I saw that yarn before it was knit : ).
GREAT job. Your so clever. Carrie and I are all about Habu when we go to Stitches in Oct. Now that we have seen and felt it will be easier to have a plan in mind.
It came out LOVELY! And practical, with those cute little pockets.
Beautiful sweater, and you're right about the gorgeous drape! Looks wonderful!
i spent a long ass time at the habu booth on saturday. but just couldn't make a decision. some yarns i loved but had no clue what i would use them for. and it bugged me that they were clearly at a yarn/knitting show yet had no clue whatsoever as to gauge type questions. two of the girls working the booth were utterly clueless. but there were some really really cool things there. i need another couple hours to think about it...
Very nice. Love the color, shape, and details.
Your sweater looks great, lady! The pockets add a great touch. I couldn't tell if you had gone back and re-knitted the bottom with some ribbed spots or what. The pockets add real interest and go so well with the neckline. It looks like it fits great! Congrats on another job well done!
You definitely have the talent for pulling design elements together and making a finished product fabulous. That looks incredible and well worth all the trouble it put you through. (easy for me to say, eh?)
Very cute. Love the ribbing details.
That is so fantastic !
You look great in your perfectly fitting tank.
You know the next step don't you ? Designing & submitting.Really.You're more than capable.
Looks great! I love the color.
WOW! I'm not a tank girl at all, but this one I would make and wear. Beautiful.
BRAVO, Miss Alison!! It is my favorite of your summer of tanks! :)
the color, the design, the yarn, the fit, all perfect! The trip to NYC with friends to buy the yarn? Priceless!
:)
Very nice design and I love the color.
You have great taste in clothes!
Love the fabu Habu! I think the edging you did on the shoulders was well worth the extra effort!
I've been sort of unofficially in the pool-along since you all started, and wondered if I could be added to your official list?
Pockets!!! It was so cute already, and then you put in pockets! Alison, you never cease to impress. I love it.
sorry, got my url wrong on the last comment...
Awesome, possum! So you like the 1000 Sweaters? I started a sweater from one of their patterns this winter and put it away due to sizing issues. Their numbers seem to be off on certain patterns, but I love all the different options the book gives. Congrats on another great tank! (And I'm sure it looks 1000 times better in person -- if that's possible, as your knits always do!)
If I had a yarn that I could give to you, I'd give to you a yarn just like Habu (apologies to J. Denver). Just love the collar! So effective and so polished.
I love everything about this sweater. It fits beautifully, love the yarn...what more can I say!!
Great job! :-)
oh, i just love it. the design, the yarn, everything! and those pockets are great. and sorry about the callous, but that neckline is soooo worth it, like you said!
Beautiful! The variegation in that yarn is so subtle, and all the finishing details make that tank a great big "WOW". Lovely work as always, Alison.
One of my favorites that you have made and shown here. The yarn and the design are a perfect match.
Cute as heck. And that color is so fine on you.
Aww, shucks. Thanks for your generous comments, everyone. I can't take credit for the collar and pockets though. They're stright from a sample sweater in the 1000 Sweaters book. All I did was adapt them to my tank and add the ribbed edging at the bottom and armholes. And the rest of the tanks fabulousness is really from that incredible yarn. I'm so glad I managed to do it justice with this design!
Habu is lovely and fits you perfectly. The pockets are a great design feature.
that looks so flattering on you!!!!!
you amaze me with how much knitting you get down.
Are you sure you don't have a nanny? haha
