tuesday is knitalong day
No weasley sweater starters so far, but Katie just got her kit from Yarn Warehouse! Most everyone is still waiting for either yarn or pattern, and in one case even needles. Of course there are some of us who are just waiting, like me! While surfing around not starting my weasley sweaters, I found the Hatmione-Along (pattern here), another cool HP knitting project to possibly add to our list.
The pooling scarf seems to be lying around on most blogs either frogged, frustrated, MIA or DOA. Exceptions: Heather, who shares some thoughts on the project and shows off her incredible progress; Brynne, who has a "baby sized" scarf so far; and Kate who has just gotten started on hers again and says she is having great success this time around.
Tea party season is almost over! Since our last update, Gina's made some best friend dolls. And I noticed a finished tea set on Christina's site. Who else is still partying?
Julia's linen drape is finished! It's gorgeous. Lynn has completed the knitting on her Salsa cardigan and is starting the lace edging. So pretty! You know I never got a chance to wear my linen drape top this summer. It always seemed either too hot or too cool. And now it's really too cool. Did anyone finish one of the table runners? Nora? If anyone needs some inspiration to finish their projects, check out Teresa's Moonbeam tank. Amazing!
Hey, sweatpant and Banff knitalogers, it's almost cold enough to start working on these winter projects. Anyone have plans to pick theirs up again?

Yarnwarehouse sent me the pattern for the Weasley sweater yesterday, so I'll be starting soon! I need to swatch, but I'm scared I'm not going to have enough yarn! (And I need to get size 4 needles) I'll keep you posted - It's definitely HP knitting week over at my blog!
I know it must be late - but if you are re-starting the Banff along - count me in. I've got that sweater on my hit list.
I'd like to join the No-Sweat Pant knit-along. I've got all the supplies and hope to start in the next month or so. Is it too late to join? I think I may need some motivation and this is just the ticket. The idea of that much stockinette is stalling me.
Ah-ha! I was just thinking that I wished I could remember where I saw the pattern for knitted sweatpants! Was it you? If so, please, please, please point me in the right directions! I remember seeing a photo of someone on a blog (which blog? help!) last winter talking about knitted sweatpants. Help! I'm sure I need to make a pair or two for the winter months!
I've started the pooling scarf three times with my Schaefer Anne and so far it just doesn't seem to be working out. But I think this is just because I need to be patient and try to work with it a little more with regards to the number of stitches and the needle size. Also, my Anne doesn't seem to have quite the same dye pattern as the designer expects.... it's a year or so old.
Hooray, MA! I'm so excited to see this knitalong get going.
Woohoo, I knew more people would be in for Banff and the sweatpants once it got cool again. I'll add you all right away. I definitely want to keep the knitalongs up into winter. Sue, check out the knitalong sidebar for the link to the Interweave Knits issue where the sweatpants are. They're so easy to make and ridiculous to wear. I love mine!
Theresa, I had the same deal with my yarn. I just can't seem to work it out. I want to give it another try, but I suspect that my colorway isn't going to work out. We'll have to pick a day for a "pooling scarf last ditch effort" - along! :)
Your so cute herding the knit-alongers forward.
I've started my sweater... picture at my site. It's kind-of a boring picture (just the back), but I enjoy knitting it.
I dig the Hatmione pattern, but I'm not really into bobbles. But knitting and Harry Potter... my two favorite things!
I started my Weasley sweater! I have about 4 inches of the back done. :) MA, if you'll be using the Yarn Warehouse pattern it calls for US5 (3.75mm) needles for the body and US3 (3.25 mm)for the sleeves, but as you note the proof is in the swatching.
I am also tempted by the pantalong and will point out for US readers that the Michaels craft store chain has the pattern yarn - Homespun - on sale (at least in the northeast US) for $3.44/skein. I'm in addition supposed to be making myself a 3XChic this fall; I don't think my Sirdar denim yarn is up for a Banff.
I am actually still waiting to ORDER my kit, so I will be Weasly alonging later. As for the tea party.... I made another doll for another birthday party.

I am so excited! I just called Interweave and they will be sending me the pattern for the No-sweat pants. (the magazine is sold out but they are selling this pattern seperately...$4.00)
My daughter will look so cute in them.
Any recommendations on which yarn to use?
Thanks!
Oh wow! I had completely forgotten about my pooling scarf. So I picked it up and worked for an hour and a half tonight! My colorway will look GREAT this fall... IF I ever finish it!
My Kit came YESTERDAY (10/6) and we are road tripping this weekend to CT....so I will have hours of road time to knit! Pictures next week.
I actually just picked up my NoSweat Pants again! But that Lion Brand Homespun is really slow knittng after my last several projects, all in DK weight. I need to add a handle to my miniature teacup, and then I'll be done with that too.
