happy mommy

S snuck into bed with me this morning and cuddled for about twenty minutes before he remembered... "my little blankie!" He's asked for it first thing the last three mornings, but it was promised for this morning. True to my word, I stayed up late last night finishing it and even managed to lay it out to block a bit before I went to bed. I pointed him in the right direction, he patted it a little and immediately carried it to the sofa to try it out. Looks like it's just right.

I hope he remembers this.

And hey, look what still fits!

Knitting requests, cuddly boys and another season of giraffe jackets - I'm one happy mommy.

How gratifying! I get "mom, you knit me something" quickly followed by "I don't want to wear it, I don't like it." Nobody told me that the clothing fights start at age 2!

You're one awesome mommy!

Wow - that was fast! I have always loved those giraffe jackets. But alas - While I know French, I do not know knitting in french. :( They are fabulous!

Stefan is oh so cute! It is great that they giraffe jackets still fit. It was seeing those in your gallery that made me go and investigate Phildar for myself!

Your boys are just adorable, and I always love seeing them on the blog. How wonderful that the giraffe sweaters still fit - too cute (boys and sweaters.)

Don't you love how children finger the edges of their blankies!
Sweet!

If you ever wondered why you knit, you never will again. That is true knitting love.

What sweet little puddin' heads. Hug them close. They're lucky little guys to have such beautiful handknit blankets and sweaters.

Oh this is such a sweet post. The picture of your boy and the blanket is priceless and I love those giraffe jackets!

You should be a happy mommy-your boys are both sweet and handsome! All that late night knitting paid off just to see Stefan take to his new blanket immediately, no?

Posted by: Katie O. at October 25, 2004 7:16 AM

Oh they look so cute! I bet stefan is so so so thrilled with his new little blankie. I was a blankie girl myself...I know the comfort properties...he looks so content. :) hugs!

Look at how adorable they look in their giraffe coats! (And are they really growing up that quickly??? They're so BIG now!)

Your story about the little blankie is so cute, I told it to my hubbie. You make us want to be parents even more! Great giraffe jackets, what good looking kiddos you have!

Hi from Denmark!

I just love those giraffe jackets! And 2 cute boys as well!
I've tried to find the pattern on the internet, but could only find it in french. Maybe you can help me, and tell me where to search?
Greetings from Denmark.

Hello Mette, the giraffe pattern is from an old Phildar pattern book (see my archive page for the details), which is pretty hard to find now and was only available in french. I did see a Lea Special magazine in Germany that had reproduced the patterns from that Phildar mag in German. So those are the only places I've seen it. If you find the pattern, get it and I or someone else can help you through the translating for sure! Good luck! :0)
