Koigu pair number one is done. I'm still not a fan of the swirly pooling, but I think the recipient will find them fun. The next pair are in a solid color (looooove the solid Koigu), so I should be happier making them.
In the meantime, mini weasley fever has broken out! Here are four more sweaters waiting for (you guessed it) seaming and duplicate stitching.

I think the pooling of the colors on the socks make them much more unique/interesting than traditional striped socks and the colors are cheerful! You're putting us all in the Christmas spirit of making homemade Chrismas gifts!
I love the little Weasleys! I might have to make a few of those myself. You know, if I can ever finish mine, that is.
I actually love the way the colour has pooled! They look bright and cheerful.
It's an army of mini-Weasleys! I love it! The socks turned out great. Da Brooklyn Sock Mafia Certificate of Sock Approval is in the mail ;)
Oh my lord, those little Weasleys are adorable!! Are you going to put H's on all of them, or a different letter on each? They'd make great Christmas ornaments and you could do a different letter for each member of the family (oh goody, now I'm going to have to make some!!).
So cute!
Thanks, Leslie. I really am getting into the knit-giving this year.
Thanks, Cari. I so glad that you approve! :)
Yes, Anne, that's exactly what I'm doing. The plan is to make pipe cleaner hangers for them and then everyone gets his/her initial. (As you can tell from the blue, I'm still working on the male members of the family.) Check out this post for a pic of the first few finished mini weasleys.
Those little sweaters are more than clever and cute!
I ordered some Koigu to make socks or mittens. I look forward to knitting with it!
I love your socks!
I love the socks! I think the colors are great. I just started with some solid colored Koigu and I'm totally loving it. Can't wait to see yours. :)
those are great socks and the mini weas's are awesome!
I love the little sweaters; I can't help imagining lots of tiny people dancing around in them. :)
Cute mini sweaters. Finished my HP sweater. Your ended up very cute.
Melissa
I bought 2 skeins of the Felted Tweed yesterday to make some mini Weasley's as Christmas gifts for friends. (great idea Alison!) This was done to tide me over 'til I can buy the yarn for my sweater with my Christmas bonus money!! Can't wait to get started!!
Great socks! And cute wee sweaters -- I've just started a mini sweater, too. It's satisfying to use up leftovers, isn't it?
I love the mini weasleys! Now I have to go knit them myself, of course :)
Alison, would you mind putting up some kind of warning when you are going to show the mini-sweaters? I find myself oddly drawn to them but really don't have time. Everytime I go to your blog I find myself standing in front of the stash with a 12 half balls of yarn and a really big plan for really small sweaters.
i like the swirly pooling on the socks, and the tiny weaseleys are adorable! i so want to get a mini sweater done for my daughter's first christmas....
Well I'll be damned, but my Koigu socks are doing the same thing - spiralling around. But having read your comments, I don't feel like they're such duds after all. Love the Mini Weasleys - action man will be very honoured.
The mini weasley sweaters are so cute! Love the socks!
Congratulations on your Knitty vest!
Lovely minis....makes me wanna knit them too!
Emy
Oy! so cute.
BTW, I went shopping Friday and my LYS, and I casted on...so you can add me to the Weasley along.
I was wondering how many hanks or yards did it take you to complete the pair of socks. I have never knit with Koigu and would really love to but I have some questions.
Leslie, I used two skeins for ladies size 8 socks. I think you might need three skeins if you have very long feet or are making socks for a man.
And for anyone interested, one ball of Felted Tweed has so far made 7 mini-weasleys!
