tuesday is knitalong day

Last weasley update before Christmas!

Peggy finished her weasley for her little "E"! Go congratulate her. Stella is practically finished. She's doing hers as a raglan in the round. Eklectika has finished the intarsia for her second weasley. It's a "Z" - you've got to check it out!

I know my co-hostess Nipper is shooting for Christmas with her weasley. She's almost there too, with at least one sleeve done. Go Jenn! MA is also getting close, with only one sleeve to go. Tania reports that she is also working on sleeves. And Orli is working her way up the back and planning to start a sleeve next.

Speaking of sleeves, I went back and lengthened the sleeves for weasley one and second weasley is just a seam away from being finished.

Who else is trying to get these done by Christmas morning??

Oh that's just precious! I'm shooting for munchkin's birthday now - which is January 5th! I don't think I'll have trouble making that deadline - sleeve #2 is coming along nicely, but then I have to put the thing together - and I've never done that before! But this whole process has been a learning one - which I love.

Merry Christmas!

After disappointing myself, by cheating on this project with the Sophie bag and Odessa shawl, Weasley and I have renewed our vows, and I will finish this sweater by Christmas morning. Tonight is our Knit-In at the yarn shop, so I hope to have a big chunk of my knitting done tonight.

well, i'm saying i am (even though i know i won't be able to because i have to finish another Christmas gift first), and i'm going to work all day Christmas Eve on it...but seeing as how book six's release date was announced today...i KNOW i'll have it done by july 16th.

I had every intention of making the little weasley sweaters, but got sidetracked into making just little sweaters instead. I still have dillusions that I might get the mini Weasleys for my daughters done by Christmas Morning.

Heh - I'm aiming for Saturday too, but only because I'm supposed to see the godkids that day for totally un-Christmas related reasons, LOL...

Funny thing, when I started the "Z" portion, I forgot to do the armhole shaping, so no set-in sleeves on this one, LOL - just have to make the back match & now I can pick up stitches for the sleeves and work my way down. Screwing up is also the mother of invention, LOL...

Well, I'm trying, but my mental deadline might need to be new years' eve instead. :)

What a fantastic sweater! I can't wait to see photos of it being modeled by its recipient. Way to go on the gift pile!

I see the "weasley" in EVERY knit blog ever. WTH is it?! At first I thought it was just a cute mini-sweater with an initial on it to give as an ornament or something. What else is it? Please define.
Thanks!
JAN

Jan, you can always check out my archives for more details on each project I'm working on. The weasley archive is here. The first post I wrote about this project should clear things up for you.

Hey Heather, thanks for the info! I'm so excited to hear that the date has been announced. Woo hoo!

your sweater looks great! lovely lovely tweed. i just wanted to let any bay area knitters know that i saw the rowan potter pattern at uncommon threads in los altos yesterday. i bought a copy for future use but they had several more there for $4 a pop. :)
