super socks

Look, new socks! And I didn't even have to make them. The very talented Sandi knitted these for me and they're perfect!

While I like bright colors and fun stripes on my sweaters, when it comes to my socks, I'm rather a plain Jane. So I'm so proud of Sandi for restraining herself from making anything too fun. I know it must have been hard. But they're exactly what I would have wished for: they're blue - 'natch; and they have this lovely cabled detail on the sides which is both beautiful and understated. And they fit perfectly, of course. Thanks Sandi! What a good gift giver.

"I love my socks, my socks and me. I'm so happy when they're on my feet. I love my socks, yeah, my socks and me. I love my socks, yeah, my socks and me...." (channelling Boots the Monkey in one of the boys' favorite Dora episodes)

Is that from "I love my ball"? ROTFL! I know that episode of Dora! (Ian loves Dora....the girls never got into it so much) Beautiful socks. Gorgeous. And thanks for the gift-giving idea. I didn't have time to knit my dad a pair of socks this year so I'm wrapping up some yarn. I know he'll be very happy even with the *anticipation* of handknit socks!

She will be thrilled to know they fit, that was the biggest worry :)

But do the socks help you "swing from tree to tree" like Boots' boots? And will you have to go to the fix it machine if one (heaven forbid) develops a hole? Dora is popular at our house too, but I don't really like the new Dora princess stuff.
Sock knitting is on my list of 2005 projects.

Excellent! I am so glad you liked them, and indeed that they fit. :) Scary to judge that really. And despite what you might think, they were fun to knit...blue is also my favorite color.

Really nice. Love the color.

There's just nothing that says "comfort" like handmade socks! They're terrific!
