tuesday is knitalong day

Weasley news:

Finally a picture of Peggy's little one in his weasley sweater! And a picture of Eklectika's TWO weasleys together - weasleys from A to Z! Also Leigh reports that she's finished hers and it was a huge hit, inciting some peer rivalry. Oh my!

Elsewhere, Orli finised the front of her weasley and Amy Lu is working on sleeves.

Sockapalooza news:

All non-beginners who sent their info to me should have received their sockapalooza sock pals by now. Remember, don't tell your sock pal who you are. Just find the perfect yarn and pattern for them, knit, knit, knit and send your socks off around March 15 with a note revealing who you are. We can all be surprised together!

Leftovers:

I heard from Elizabeth that she finished a version of my leftovers vest. Stripes are good, mmmm'kay.

And bookish girl, Wendy finished a Banff and is starting some sweat pants! I love to see old knitalong projects being made by others. It brings back fun memories of making my own projects. I had to pull out Banff and the sweatpants already this week and wear them!

Coming soon:

Last January we ripped and last February was for finishing. This year I'm declaring February to be for fixing. I've got a few projects, like pop that need some minor tweaking and plenty of others that need major overhauls.

Just so I don't chicken out with pop, I took her apart last night. Here's the front back on the needles again and ready for reknitting.

So this February, there'll be some ripping, some reknitting, reclaiming of yarn and rethinking of projects. Who else is ready to play knitting doctor?

I already have a project that needs a little ripping (who am I kidding? a lot of ripping) and doctoring up. I'll play along!

Oh yeah, count me in for Fixin' February.

One side of one leg down. 3 sides for two legs to go.

Way to go with the fixin'! Keep the faith, your fixin' to get it right!

Oh, man...I'm full of it today. Time to lay off the coffee. ;)

There is the Elizabethian neck warmer that needs three I-Cord button holes, there is purple haze, which needs longer sleeves and to have the front piece finished and I'm sure it won't take me long to find a few others ... so count me in!

March could be the month for picking up an old project and actually completing it! So sorry to see you taking your pink/red sweater apart! Tks for coming up w/all these themes...as for me, my middle name should be "frog it".

Usually my sweaters are neat fit, but I made this one sweater from the top down (supposedly that is when the sweaters fit perfectly, right, cause you can try it on while you knit? Well, not when you use a needle that is too short for those experiments.). It got VERY wide. Its very nice and cosy and I knit the waistband and sleevebands with some fancy yarn that felted after the first wash. So, yeah, February it is then. I will need to redo from the part when I thought increases would be a good idea. And also redo the bands.

Well, I have my own version of Klaralund that needs tweaking, but I'm contemplating knitting a Ribby Cardi with the yarn instead. I don't know yet.

Yes! I definitely need a fixin' February. I have two mock turtlenecks that need to be more turtley and less mocking. It's such a simple job, but for some reason I'm resisting doing anything to a FINISHED sweater. Thanks for the motivation!

Oh, man, this is just the monthly-theme that I need. I am so in on this one. RIP - a double-entendre for the things that need to be "reclaimed" (I like that, it sounds so positive) and redone. Cheers!

I noticed that you are actually PART of the sockapalooza too. Does that mean that you already KNOW who is knitting socks for you? Not that there's anything wrong with that :)

Woohoo, I've got some february fixin' friends! I'll make a button some time this week and we can do it like a real knitalong, so we can support each other, 'kay?

Yes, Illanna, I do know who's making socks for me, but I've promised myself not to peek. ;0)

Count me in! My goal for 2005 is to finish (most of) my UFOs, and there are definitely some that need some fixing or rethinking...

I am in for Fixin' Feb. I have a poncho that REALLY needs some work. Not to mention a hat, a bag.....
