still popping

In yet another warm-up to the february fixing, I pulled out pop and ripped back the front to get ready to try my hand at inventing a better neckline.

First I've decided to lengthen each piece by about an inch. The sweater is actually the perfect size, but it tends to ride up, both body and sleeves, when I wear it, so since I'm ripping, why not add the extra inch that will keep me from having to tug on the bottom and the cuffs? I have to say that I've actually worn this sweater around the house quite a bit (when I was trying to decide if I wanted to rework it or not), and I really liked it. I think it could be a sweater I'll wear a lot. But first I gotta get that neck right! Maybe something more squared like in the original pattern that inspired my pop stripes? Maybe another split neck like my january sweater in progress?

Frankly, I can't believe that I'm still working on this sweater!

I really like the original squared neck.

All this griping about the neck of Pop has inspired me to give it a try! But after the gray Rowan Macey, the green cotton Ripples...

I really had to smile today, because popping is in german another word for making love, not too proper but used. So your header means to me ...

;)

I would go with the square neckline like the inspirational sweater. I love to look at unusual necklines, but simple designs like scoops and crews are the ones that I actually wear again and again. They are the no fuss tops that would probably stand up to a mom's limited dressing time. :-)

It'll be worth it. The colors are excellent.

I personally love the split neck, but I think the square neck would look good on Pop.

How funny, Sybille, I never heard of that!

um, I'm sort of cheating on the fix-a-thon too. As in, I'm done. BUT, I still need to get buttons, and I haven't posted a picture yet. Good luck with your sweater. I love the colors.

I vote for the square. I did really like the little holey one you had going before though :)

Square! Square!

i always like to see how you stick with a knit until you get it just right. i wish i could say the same. i need to get my fix on.

What I liked about the holey top was that you got the colors to overlap - and since I love your color choices and combination, that was a big plus. But it looks like it's going to be a great sweater, no matter what you choose. Keep up posted! :)
