yarn goody #1

5 skeins of Phildar Copacabana in color #4 "naturel", which is beige/white variegated. This the same yarn I used to make my tiny tank a couple years ago (just in a different colorway). It's 100% rayon and knits up like a spongey cotton tape. There's 94m per ball at 14st/10cm.

My good buddy Becky sent me a few skeins in this color to make a second tiny tank and then I bought a whole bunch more of it thinking I'd make a whole sweater, but now I really just want another tank. So here's the extra I bought, all the same dye lot and everything. It'd be enough to make a large tank with wide straps and maybe even short sleeves.

The yarn mitzvah rules: If you're interested in this yarn, leave a comment to this post by Sunday, April 10 and start thinking about yarn you might want to give away. I'll draw a name and announce the winner in two weeks.

I've wanted to make the copacabana tank since I saw yours! So count me in! That color makes me think of vanilla!

And boy, I've got plenty of yarn to give away ;)

What a great idea! I already know what yarn I would like to pass on to someone else! Count me in, please!

I want it! (And the Licorne!)

I'm in, too! And ditto on the great idea in sharing the yarny love. :-)

I would love that yarn! It's beautiful. I have lots of good yarn that I'd love to give to someone. Plus, I'm Jewish, so a Yarn Mitzvah would be right up my alley.

I love that yarn, it's gorgeous. Add me to the list please. I have the perfect Yarn Mitzvah yarn ready to go.

Please add me to the list too. And I'll be thinking of what to pass on. This is a great idea! (And that would make a lovely tank!)

Great idea! I am a first time poster but a long time admirer of your site. Please count me in :-)

What a wonderful idea -- and please put me in the draw for this yarn, I love the look of the teeny tiny tank you made with the blue version. I have some beautiful aran weight wool from Bendigo woolen mill --- four or five 400m balls in a soft beige. It's nice yarn, but I'll never have time to use it. I'd be pleased to give it away in the spirit of Yarn Mizvah.

I would love to belong to this sort of knitting legacy. I will have some yarn to pass on. However, I would have to email a pic to you to post on your blog. Or, I will do my best to get one up and running by Sunday night. Thanks, Alison

What a very Knitterly thing to do, Yarn giveaways. I love it, and I love this yarn. (would look excellent on my youngest DD) I think I have some pretty excellent yarns to offer up on my blog also. Kinda like a yarn version of paying it forward. Wonderful idea Alison.

Moi aussi! I am making a collection of tank tops for my daughter's birthday in July. I have a few different yarns I could give away but the most quantity I have is 7 balls of Alafoss Lopi (chunky wt.) yarn in Pond heather.

What a wonderful idea! I'd love to put my name in the hat!

me, too! I have the perfect yarn to pass on - I know it will be perfect for someone, but it's just not for me. This Copacabana, on the other hand, has my name written all over it!
