This is knitting up so quickly! And I'm really enjoying the denim. Just look at that blue! The blue, by the way, isn't coming off on my fingers dramatically. My hands are definitely less pink and more pallid after I've been knitting with the denim for a while, but I wouldn't call them blue. The Erika Knight pattern is so simple, but the little picot and decreasing details really make it. I can't wait to see how it will all look when it comes out of the wash!
And I am now obsessed with the idea of making a denim pinafore for myself.

I love it! It looks great! :)
The pinafore is beautiful! I LOVE Denim - made a cute jacket out of it for my little guy - bet your boys would love one, too!! :)
Oh, to live in the 70s again, when denim pinafores were the mainstay of easy living... :-)
Oh, it's so sweet! I love that it's simple enough to make the details really shine. :)
So cute. You could totally make a simple dress "pinafore" for yourself. Might take a little bit longer though
Precious! Are you going to be putting a contrast
edge (crab stitch) around the neckline or ruffle stitch?

Leslie, the neck and armholes will also have picot edgings like the bottom of the dress. So sweet!
I can't wait to see the adult version of Denim Pinafore. I'd tell you not to do it, but the pleasure of seeing it is winning (heehee!) This version is very cute.
Beautiful! I made a multi-striped pinafore for my daughter, who insists on only wearing dresses, from the Miss Bea's book. She loves it. The picot edging is a nice touch. Isn't it fun to make something girlie?
I think that is absolutely beautiful! My favorite color too! Can't wait to see it when its done. I have been wanting to make something like that, but have no little kids of my own or in my family yet. Soon enough!
yep you are right the hem really stands out, very sweet
You know one of the things that I love most about your WIPs? They always have a crease running down them. I think it makes the knit look so profesional and really knit with care, for some reason.
Hey Rachele, I never noticed that before about the crease. I just keep my wips folded up in project bags, so I guess that's where the creases come from. I am a pretty neat person though, so I do take care to fold them neatly when I put them away in the bag. How funny.
Next you need to make the Denim jacket to go with the pinafore ;>
March 11 on my blog has a pic of Bean wearing the self same jumper. It's a wonderful thing. Especially since you get all the plus of a handknit while being able to wash and dry the heck out of it!
