I'm thinking these socks will definitely have to be for me. Look at how I messed up the heels.
The first heel was done over about 60% of the stitches, instead of 50%. I left it because I was too lazy to go back. I did the second heel correctly (why didn't I just repeat my mistake to make them match?!) but then managed to do the toe over a different number of stitches from the first sock. Whaaaa? So they're wonky and crazy all over now.
I still kinda love 'em though. I can't help it. They crack me up.

people who make socks...
Awww...I think they are really cool and fun! You should totally keep them. I mean...why not?!? :)
"denim pinafore from simple knits for little cherubs and..."
please finish this sentence - you make us curious!
Oh, yeah, those heels are SOOOO screwed up :-).
Awww, they're cute. And they'll love you just the way they are. ;)
I totally dig 'em! I think you intentionally made the heels mismatch so you could keep them. ;)
Those socks are craaaaaazy!
They're great. I wouldn't change a thing!
Those socks are so cool! I know I would be thrilled to get them. Honestly it's unlikely that anyone would notice the heels (or care if they did). I think you just want to keep them cause they are so great!! :)
Neato!! I love the way they turned out and the colors are great.
They're little quirks are endearing :)
I think those are the coolest colored socks! I think you should keep them, and not because of the heels!
Those socks look great . . . and really, who will ever notice the heels don't perfectly match. (I mean, how often do you really sit like that??) Very cool!
I think they're great. I'd probably keep them, if I'd made them, but out of selfishness rather than embarrassment.
Cool socks! That's what makes knitting so great - those socks are now your personal design!
wahoo! when you first started knitting them, i wasnt sure what i thought about the flashing, but now that you're done and they are adorning your feet, i'm hoping that MY lorna's laces socks do the same thing. it looks so damned NEAT!
The socks totally rock! Keep 'em like a greedy sock monster, and let the other folks have "plain" striped socks.
If I ever get that far in my sock knitting (I'm currently attempting my second pair - gulp), I'll want to copy this. And then I'll have my own pair of Shazaam socks! Woot!
In keeping with your frequent Superheroes theme I think you should call these socks the 'shazam' socks, I love 'em, yowser!
PP x
I love the lightning bolt...they're your superhero socks!
they are pretty wild! I like the heel and toes.hang the shazaam they are cool ;0)
Wow, those socks are amazing! I have some LL in Argyle I haven't knitted up yet, but it looks different in the hank than yours. I wonder if mine will do the same thing yours did - except I am not changing yarn for the toes and heels. Great job! Who care about matching perfectly?
They look quite fab! Your feet will be ever so happy to wear them. :)
those are, by far, the "rad"-est socks i've ever seen! i want to make them now!
Hi Alison, these are Supermom socks!
The heels just add to the wacky charm. They're awfully cute!
Oh Alison, how could you possibly post a pic of those heels? ;) For shame!
I like them! I agree with all the people who say it'd never be noticed. But then again, YOU know it, and that would probably bug you, just knowing :)
I think ur socks looks way cool just the way they are. I love it..:)
They're funky cool. And they're Lorna's Laces. Why would you *want* to give them away!
I LOVE the socks! They're definitely happy making.
Those socks are very cute and adorable. I think you should keep them. No one else will even know that the heels are a little off. They look great!
I love them! You need to get some of those clear shoes so everyone can see them. Or...wear socks and sandals? Personally, I love the combination, but I guess it is pretty tacky.
oh wow, those socks are great!
