the blue blog archives: tuesday is knitalong day

A lot of people have contacted me saying how sad they were to have missed the sign-up last week. So how many people are out there who really wanted to join but missed it? Let's have a show of hands.

With this automated system, I should be able to handle the organization end of adding a few more participants, but I'm worried that once we get over 300 sockers, there'll be a lot bigger chance that some people will flake and some pals will be forgotten. If I open up the sign-ups again, you'll have to promise to come through for your pal.

I'll update this post with new info if/when I reopen the signups. Keep your browsers open and Bloglines notifiers on!

UPDATE: I hope you all snuck in over the last two days, cause with over 350 participants, I gotta close it down now. I can't wait to get started and see all the fabulous socks you all are going to make!

I don't know if I missed the sign-up or not. It took my information, and I got it in before you posted that sign-up was closed, but I haven't heard anything. So. If I *did* miss it, I'd love to join...

same here -- should i have heard already? I signed up before the cutoff, got a confirmation, but haven't gotten an "assignment." No rush! But just want to make sure I'm on your list! Thanks SO MUCH for organizing, too!

If you entered your info and got the "thank you for participating" screen, you're in.

I can't compile a big email list or anything like that until everyone is done signing up. And with my hard drive dying last week, I have not had time to start organizing the data. So, there won't be a "welcome" email until I am sure that the sign-ups are definitely over and I've got my computer fully operational again. But I still hope to have everyone's pals sent to them next week so we can start knitting mid-June.

I'd like to join and I promise I'll come through for my sock pal. I have never knitted a sock but am going gangbusters on lace and sweaters. Please put me in the newbie column. Thanks for reopening this!

I did miss the sign up, and I'm so sad! I had so much fun last time around, I was really looking forward to it. I fully and completely promise to come through for my pal if you re-open it and let me in.

If you have slackers who don't come through for their sock pals, post their blogs and we shall shame them. Or just send out an SOS and the completely overwhemed among us will step up to the plate and finish the job. Thanks for doing this. I whined about it on my blog and then I got in after all.

I was part of sockapalooza one & it was great. Just wondering tho how many didn't send their socks. And did you keep their names so they couldn't join sockapaltwoza? It is so much fun it is a shame things like that have to happen.
