I cannot blog today

"I cannot go to school today,"
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more--that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?

from "Sick" by Shel Silverstein

Since I'm feeling sick today, I'll just post some pics from our Father's Day dinner at Bugaboo Creek.

I like Daddy's restaurant

Look, the buffalo is talking!

That was my all time favorite poem from that book, it is still imbedded into my brain from when i was younger! Feel better, and you have 2 of the most adorable children.

Hoping you feel better soon!

The Shel is a great poet; it's even better listening to him recite this one. But be warned against his early work with the band. He's one dirty old coot.

I love Shel Silverstein too, especially his Big O stories! Wish you get better soon!

get well soon! I hope you're not of the so-sick-I-can't-knit variety...'cause that's definitely the worst!!

That poem brings back memories :) My elementary school nurse hung a big poster version of it in her office, and I read it so many times while waiting there. Not that I went to the nurse's office often or anything.

Feel better!

Shel Silverstein is guaranteed to reduce my two to giggles any time. Hope you feel better soon.

Those are adorable pictures!

We LOVE that restaurant (when we're near one). They have the BEST chocolate cake.

That's so funny. I read Shel Silverstein poems to my friend's grade 1-2 class on Friday. I didn't read Sick, but she quoted it for the students. (My fav. is the Polar Bear in Fridgidaire -sp?). The boys look like they had fun!

That's where we took my father too...but I HATE the talking buffalo!

Hope you feel better real soon. It's hard to be sick when you have little kids. They are so cute.
