look! down on the floor! it's Clapotis!

Longer than a speeding Thomas train.

More powerful than a Lego firetruck.

Able to distract a single boy from the television.

Look! Down on the floor!

It's a shawl! It's a scarf!

It's Clapotis!

Clapotis - as popular as chocolate! I just finished my 2nd one last night. I may have to do a self photo pose like yours.

Love the color of your Clapotis. Very butterscotch!

ooh very pretty! It's going to be so nice to have this fall.

Very beautiful! Congrats on finishing - it suits you to a T!

(To a tee? To a tea?)

Beautiful colour!

You could make a hat, a broach, a teridactyl...

Lovely scarf!

Pretty!

Wow, it's gorgeous! Beautiful job. I may just have to hop on the Clapotis bandwagon one of these days...

Very impressive presentation! HOORAY!

Posted by: laurie at July 2, 2005 3:18 PM

... and it's fabulous!

Posted by: Liz at July 2, 2005 4:50 PM

Hey Alison, did you block it or not? I blocked my first one...moving onto my second, wondering what others are doing.

Posted by: LeAnne at July 2, 2005 4:54 PM

I am a big fan of your clapotis - the colour is just fabulous! Watch out for kryptonite!

Your Clapotis is BEAUTIFUL!!

Posted by: Kim at July 2, 2005 6:05 PM

Beautiful! I'm starting to weaken toward this pattern. . . I didn't PLAN on making it (ever), and yet, there are so many beautiful ones out there! I did, however, just finish the second sleeve of my NbaT . . . for some reason, I thought you'd be interested to hear that!

Posted by: Deb at July 2, 2005 6:37 PM

Ha, Kathy, too funny! :D

LeAnne, I haven't blocked mine. I think it could use it, but I don't really have a space large enough to do it. I may end up just blocking small sections of it - the corners for example - where it's curling the most.

...It's wonderful! I love the marmalady color.

Posted by: amysue at July 3, 2005 8:24 AM

I am loving the colors, orange..... I have a question...and a problem.... I cannot seem to find a bind-off that is elastic enough for a toe up sock....I tryed the suspended bind-off, but no luck. Do you have any sugg.??? That's all I have left to finish my pals socks. Any help would be great.

I love it and I love your post presenting it...very creative!

Posted by: michele at July 3, 2005 2:01 PM

I have been saying for almost a year I would not give in to Clapotis mania, but you really are tempting me! Sweet!

Posted by: Rebecca at July 3, 2005 6:38 PM

I gave in and started a Clapotis, too. However, I am loving the colorway you chose...I may have to do another! It's beautiful!

Posted by: Roxie at July 3, 2005 9:25 PM

Beautiful Clapotis! Love the pictoral!

Posted by: Rachel at July 3, 2005 11:37 PM

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! GO BUY YOURSELF SOME YUMMY YARN FROM NYC

Posted by: lisa b at July 4, 2005 10:09 AM

That's lovely. That mustard-y color looks great on you.

Posted by: Jenn at July 4, 2005 10:36 AM

I love your Clapotis. I really must try one of my own. I just don't know what yarn I would like to try. What did you use?

Posted by: Diane at July 4, 2005 11:44 PM

Stunning! That colorway is really remarkable done up clappy style.

Posted by: Sarah at July 5, 2005 3:05 PM

it's gorgeous!!!

Posted by: rebecca at July 7, 2005 12:35 PM

Beautiful - I especially love the action shot! How much yarn did you end up using, out of curiosity?

Posted by: Tonia at July 8, 2005 2:26 PM

Tonia, I followed the pattern as originally written (not the shortened version that she added later in pink) and used about 3 3/4 hanks of Malabrigo. Malabrigo is an awesome buy at only $12 a hank, so it's a great price for such a large, lovely shawl. Heck, it's even a bargain for a super-long scarf!
