One Harry Potter scarf all done. You can't tell with it hanging in the window but it's almost 8 feet long. That's 57,600 stitches (to compare, I'd estimate that the NBaT is about 33,000 stitches).
Only 5 days left and we can put the new book in the window too. Oh boy!

I love the window display. Very creative! The idea of the ultra-long scarf intrigues me. I think I may make myself one. If I start now I may be finished by winter. 57,600 stitches? That's a whole lot of knitting. Will you eventually get to keep the scarf or is it for the shop?
Hi,
Congrats: what a warm welcome to Harry Potter! The window looks great! The scarfs are looing great!
The German H-P-community, even the non-knitters, is waiting too.....
With knitty greetings from warm and sunny Berlin

Oh my...you are even more creative and talented than I thought you were!!!
You're brilliant dear!
Donna
How cute! You did a great job! :)
That's a great window display!
I'm not usually one for knitting things because they are fashionable or popular, but I'm so freakin' excited for HP 6 that I've been considering getting the yarn for a scarf. Of course, I think it would have to be in Ravenclaw colors, as there is little doubt that that would be my school, if I were lucky enough to be born in the Potter-verse. ;-)
Alison, I love that display! I have to say that I like the new scarf better than the old one- it's fittingly more mature.
I'm desperately trying to finish an 800 page book by Friday so I'll be completely free to read Harry. I'll be wearing my Harry Potter pj's and riding my bike (alas, not a Nimbus 2000)to the midnight party.
Anxiously Awaiting in Amsterdam
wow, the window decoration is awesome!! great timing for the new book! i love harry potter! my husband has been naggin me to make him one of these scarves... i may have to soon!
Your window display looks great! I bet the shop is thrilled to have you working there.
Fabulous display! You can really see the love for all things HP in your cleverly designed window.
57,000+ stitches? Oy. Does it make you long for a quickie sock project?
What a great window display! I bet that will pull a lot of customers in when the book comes out.
The window looks great. Man, I can't wait until the Half-Blood Prince is in my hot little hands! I've been reading Order of the Phoenix all weekend (well, that and playing with my dog, spending time with my niece and nephew, going to a show, cooking a birthday dinner, knitting . . . it's not like I've been sitting and doing nothing but reading! That's this COMING Saturday.)
It looks fabulous! You are so talented, and the shop is so lucky to have you :)
The window is just perfect, or at least it will be once it has a nice, fat book in it as well!
what a great window! i cannot *wait* till the book comes out!! your scarves looks fabulous ;)
What a succulent display! I love the stitch count.
YOu do great work no matter what it is. Your window is beautiful and your knitting always is!
how fun! everything looks great!!!
I love the display, especially the Nimbus. That's a HUGE scarf.
You know how to have so much fun! BTW, I'll have Sockapal2 sock on my post tomorrow. That Nimbus is perfect!
I LOVE your window display-great job!
That display looks great and the scarf is awesome! I can't wait till Friday!! Wheeeeee
What a cute window display! I am so excited for the book to come out- I think I may be at the bookstore at midnight this time!
Very cool window. Being the geek that I am, I try to avoid all things popular, and managed to stave off the siren call of Harry Potter until this spring. Then, while working a crap job that required minimal concentration, I got hooked on the audio books. I've listened to 1-5 and am literally counting the days until Jim Dale reads me book 6. They're fantastic!
Cute! I'm waiting on tenterhooks for the audiobook too, which I am taking on my road trip to the Rockies next month.
I wish I lived closer so I could come see this in person!
I'm ever so excited to be wearing my Weasley sweater this
week when the BOOK finally comes to our local bookstore!
woohoo! I have you to thank for the project inspiration...
xoxooxo
wow that display looks so fabulous. i can't wait to get the new book either. i might just have to start a scarf for my roommate (who is definitely a ravenclaw). great job!
LOVE it!!
Can't wait for the new book either.
*sigh*... my weasley is currently only 2% done... no way it'll be ready for Friday! ;)
Great window display! It really makes me want to come in and buy yarn!!!
So... is that how you store your extra knitted items when they're out of season? ;)

Your creativeness is surely going to draw customers to the KS especially w/the new HP release!
that storefront ROCKS...nice job Alison! I hope people don't start asking for the Weasley sweater pattern ;)
Not bad for a muggle ;-) Well done, Alison! Love the display.
The window display is just wonderful - and the scarf is fabulous!
Eve
I have got to come and see that store window! It looks excellent!
Eye-catching display -- what a cool, fun idea to make both new and familiar customers linger.
The store window looks AMAZING! I'm so impressed.
I am glad someone else is so excited about Harry Potter. I keep telling my friends how many days left and they just raise an eyebrow.
I love your window--beautiful scarves.
Hello,
I was wondering what you thought of the "A" I designed for my Weasley? Picture here:

Thanks!
This display is wonderful! :)
My friend Katherine has talked so much about you Alison that I just had to "meet" you. I look forward to joining the next sockapalooza ... or how ever you call it ... and so does she. I just learned to knit socks last month with dpns and am teaching myself how to knit them on my machine. Is that cheating?
what a great store window :)
Did you finish reading the book by now?
