What a great looking scarf! With the book 6 coming out I've been inspired to add the Ravenclaw scarf to my list.

Hi Allison!

The HP scarf looks great! My little sister is getting married on July 16-think I can make it to Barnes & Noble before the ceremony to pick up my copy of The Half Blood Prince?

Just wanted to send you an up date on my sockapal-2-za project...I've purchased some pretty blue Trekking XXL for the socks and I'm planning to make ankle socks with pompoms. I was adapting a pattern of Ann Budd's, but now I think I'll try your pattern instead. Wish me luck-with a 4 month old in the house, knitting is SLOW!

I'm also looking forward to Book 6!
Are you going to wear the scarf during while reading for the ultimate HP feeling?

Posted by: bettina at July 7, 2005 11:39 AM

Sakes, that's some scarf! Ok, so I have 9 days to read 5 and save up some money...

Yeah, Harry Potter! Can you post the yarn info so the obsessed among us can have scarfy fun, too?

How funny, I just saw this pattern this morning. It looks like the Sorting Hat to me. http://www.coatsgmbh.de/de/1/strboxhexenhut.html

Ooh. This means I have only 9 days left to learn how to read and knit at the same time.

Pointless to try, I guess. My poor yarn will be lonely while I lavish the book with attention. :-)

There will be no knitting in my house on the 16th or the next couple of days. I pre-ordered the book in January...

The scarf is looking wonderful, and I can't wait for Half-Blood Prince, either! I'll start OOTP on Saturday (I've been reading one each Saturday for the last four weeks), and then sit and twiddle my thumbs--possibly with some yarn and needles involved--until book six comes out on Saturday, at which time, I can tell you, there will be NO KNITTING until the book is finished!

Wow, is that really a scarf! That sucker's HUGE! I can't wait until it comes out too! I've had it pre-ordered since, oh, last year sometime. Yay for HP!

Love the scarf! I plan on working on mine while I'm waiting for midnight - in my Marauder's t-shirt, lol. After that, all knitting may be abandoned for the book! :)

love the scarf, and the toes, too cool. I just ripped the bag that I was working on back to the casting on. Not happy, oh well this is what learning is all about.

I love it!!!

I just reread 5 and am impatiently waiting for 6. Can it get here soon enough?

Posted by: Kathleen at July 7, 2005 8:00 PM

Oh man, I still need to read the last few books! I am so far behind! I still can't wait though :)

Posted by: Dani at July 7, 2005 8:11 PM

it's looking fabulous! cracks me up, you sound like my sister... she re-read #5 to make sure she remembers every detail for the sixth :)

Holy cow! That's one HEALTHY scarf. Your picture made me laugh, thanks.

Just joined the online "knitting community" - LOVE the scarf. I've been knitting to the Audio of FOUR and FIVE to be ready for the new book. Hooray! I think I'm going to have to knit that scarf.... hmm....
