scarf pile
You know, I never really knit scarves before. As a beginning knitter, I didn't start with scarves like many people do. Don't know why, just sort of jumped into blankets and sweaters. And now I find myself knitting scarves like mad. Must be some sort of attempt to make up for my missed knitting childhood, I guess.

This lovely yarn is Morehouse Merino lace weight for their Melody shawl. Shannon made this last year (picked it up when we visited Rhinebeck) and it is fabulous. She got me the kit for my birthday this year. Thanks Shannon!

Another scarf for the store. This is a Karabella pattern to be knit in their own Aurora 8 yarn. Yum! I've never knit with this yarn before, but I've heard wonderful things about it, so I'm very excited to get started.

Hmmmm.... what could that be for? I just can't turn down a good deal on Harry Potter colors. The Jo Sharp was on mega 50% off sale at my LYS and, as for the Lion Brand, can I help it if Lion Brand makes the perfect Gryffindor gold?
I also just ordered this neat felted Waterfall scarf pattern from Pick Up Sticks. Is that not the coolest thing you can imagine making with Cascade 220?

I also started knitting with something other than scarves. And, like you, I'm really in to them now. Can't get enough. Almost as bad a socks which I didn't start to knit until about three years ago.
Thanks for the great tutorial on the short row heel. I'm not sure if I like my results on my first ever attempt but maybe I'll get better over time. The Simple Socks book description left me a little uneasy but your tutorial fixed that.
Oooh, I love the Morehouse merino. They have such beautiful yarns :)
Oh! Shame on you for flaunting all of those lovely yarns! Now I have skein envy! LOL! (Like I don't have enough yarn?)
8 years and I still haven't knit a scarf! I have sock yarn that I don't feel like making into socks...maybe I'll start with that...someday.
Those really ARE the perfect HP colors. I hope they get along with each other.
Oooo! I like the look of those felted scarves!
I hear Rowan Cork felts... Too bad the gauge isn't the same as Cascade 220 eh?
I bought my Moorehouse Merino after the NYS&W too. I decided I'd finish it before stopping there again after this years fair. Isn't it a great shop? I made the Capri Shawl , very easy. You can check it out at my blog. Cheers,Diane
