scarf awhile

I'm scarfing as fast as I can, working hard to make my weekend deadline.

I need to knit a couple more feet of ruffles, so the scarf can be wrapped twice around the neck. The candy cane scarf just makes it around the neck twice at this point, so I only need to knit about one more foot for the tail.

I am having way too much fun knitting these scarves! So different from knitting a top. All the pressure of getting the fit right and all the fuss of getting the finishing right are gone, gone, gone. It's just pure knitting. How delightful!

Probably why I have yet to make that jump from scarves to other things. I just keep finding more patterns and more things I want to make....and they are so portable too!

Love your scarves!

Indeed. And a storehouse of presents too.

The ruffle scarf looks so fun to knit! On the candy pole scarf, are you carrying the yarns along the edges?

What Leslie said. I can't imagine cutting the yarn every couple of rows... are you?

Ruffles looks adorable. I'm going to knit that one of these days. :-)

I LOVE the candy cane scarf! Where can I find a pattern for that?

Do I smell a whiff of a future scarf exchange ....????

Posted by: Regina at August 10, 2005 3:08 PM

Hmmm... Lauren, total neglect of all other projects? Insatiable obsession? Sheer willpower?

As always, pattern links can be found in the archives for this entry. Click on "the scarf file" by the time stamp and it should be at the top of the page. Please understand that I can't send copies of the patterns since they are copyrighted. But I have mentioned how the diagonal scarf is made in another post, so check out the archives for that description.

Regina, I think that someone else is doing a scarf exchange. Does anyone have the details on that??
